Post Winsheild Washer Pump

I just bought me some de-icer wisheild washer fluid the other day and tonight I was driving home and decided to squirt all my old washer fluid out and to my suprize the washer pump kicked off after a coulple of seconds. No big deal just thought I would share it my fellow F-150 owners.

It is supposed to do that to prevent burning up the little pump. I think it is covered in the owners manual.

I have had a 94 Ranger, 94 Bronco, 95 F150, 95 T-bird, and now a 97 F150. Not a washer unit in one of them ever worked properly. I have a friend with a 96 Ranger, his is hard to get to work also. My wife's 97 Taurus works fine.
Hmmmm. Let's check out the results of my Survey: 6 out of 7 Ford product washer systems suck! I think there is an inherent problem in the design of the stalk.

I am thinking of carrying a bottle of windex in my cab. When the windshield gets dirty, I'll roll down the window and spray some on. That may be a problem at high speeds, though.

Cool

My wife goes through a gallon of that stuff every couple of months. I'd have to hit a bird at 70 mph before I'd use mine. I just don't want my windshield THAT clear because my driving scares me.
