Economic stimulus

We have the best economic stimulus with gas at less than $2 a gallon. That's better, and will go farther than the tax check we got last year.

I don't drive much and I'm saving a good $30 a week.

22 gallons of 93 octane at $41.00 today. Not too shabby. - Og

Maybe not, but is it half price everywhere?

i talked to my dad about this over thanksgiving. it due to the demand of gas being low so once demand goes back up we can expect gas to go up. he said barrels were below $50 a gallon last time he had checked.

Made a trip to the Texas coast over Thanksgiving and was just calculating last night. The gas cost me $80 less than it would have a few months ago. That is $80 that can be spent on other consumer goods rather than gas.

It is around 43/barrel IIRC. Not really due to demand though. it is due to speculation.

It's hard to tell these days. Should be demand, but speculation drove it up to $147 back in July.

How about for economic stimulus, we dont bail out the auto makers. Just give every head of household (who filed a tax return with "Income") a $30k gift certificate to an American automaker. They get money and customers, we get new trucks!

I like that idea!

something more realistic could be maybe 5k on top of all other incentives? it might get more people in the showroom at least.

Or... You give them the $25B but require them to make the entire car in the USA by American citizens or you just penalty tax foreign car owners.
