Trust me it sucks!!!!! I got laid off two weeks ago and havent found a single job or interview yet. I've been in the construction material transportation for 18 years and there aint a damn thing out there not even mcdonalds or walmart. so merry friggin christmas to all and the best part is that i have to argue with the unemployment office cause i made too much this year and the previous year and im trying to tell the lady but what does that have to with my situation right now? and the best is $275 a week.WTF is that gonna do. i made that in a day. sorry rant over now

been there done that last year, i got to work to be pulled into an office and let go. i was there for a little over 2 years, had to pick up and move to a different area for a decent paying job entry.
right now i feel confident to a moderate degree, there's a need for food processing, and an even higher need for the mechanics to keep the plants running. i know at any time tree top may close up a plant and take the equipment to another plant.

Sorry to hear about you guys tough luck. If you decide to change careers you might look at the power industry. We have a shortage a coming and most utilities are ramping up to replace the boomers as they retire. I can't say it's recession proof, but at this point it seems pretty much open.

I can't say the interview went well. It was kinda cold and awkward. This lady ran the dept and she had no personality and was just stone cold? Very weird interview.
I am also talking with another company but I won't know anything till next week. I'm meeting the local college and I think I might go snow plow for them part time. I didn't think it would come to this? but you do what you have to in order to bring money in.
I applied for a couple of government jobs but they ask some of the most point questions! I hate how they screen their applicants! It goes like this...
Do you describe yourself as: white, black, asian, middle eastern, other
Are you a female or Male?
WTF does that have to do with anything??? How does that make you qualified for a job?
I'm getting pissed and frustrated!
