Ford Ranger concept

It looks like Ford hasn't given up on the Ranger. I just came across this, thought I'd share.

Kinda weird it is called the "2008" Ranger Max Concept when it was released yesterday. Looks like it could be built next to a Toyota Hilix. Plus it was at the Thailand Auto show, most likely we'll never see it.

That looks like a Asian market Ranger with a lot of add-ons.

My brother is in the military in the Philippines, and they have a lot of those there. Mostly powered by small but torquey diesels. They also have a lot of Expeditions and F150s which I found interesting.

I think it would look better without that crap in the bed, and some better tires.

Looks similar to the Explorer concept. I hope Ford keeps the Ranger, could be a profitable truck if they would redesign it..

Yeah that is the 3.0L High pressure common-rail turbo diesel. Good little engine. There are alot of people here in the US that would love to have that truck with that engine. I belive that engine powers just about all Ford European cars and trucks.

If they redesign every inch of it, if they give it a new motor, if they increase the payload, if they make a 4 door version, if they put in more comfortable seats, if they increase the interior room, and so on...

Ugh... I hate it.

Why so.. ugh... it looks like a toy truck... wayyyyyyy to much plastic! I'd hate to take that thing off road.

What the heck are they doing to these vehicles?! Sheesh, you take them off road once and you pretty much wreck them because of all the plastic!

What happened to the steel bumpers, heavy duty this and that... sad, sad story.

Looks gross. The headlights, grille, tailights, and that goofy rack make it look ridiculously asian/ricer.
