What is your career?
I am going into Petroleum Engineering.
From wikipedia: "Petroleum Engineering" refers to the subsurface engineering activities related to the production of hydrocarbons, which can be either crude oil or gas.
Pay Scale These numbers seem to be low from what some of my friends and co-workers have been telling me. I think this just refers to base salary with no bonus, etc.

I'm thinking heavily about nuclear engineering. I have a close friend I grew up with that is in training to become a plant manager/operator at TVA Watts Bar. He and I started out pretty much the same way in college, I dropped out for stupid reasons, he stuck with it and graduated with a degree in Chemistry. Now I make about 36k a year working my a$$ off 10-12 hrs a day, he makes around.... well I don't know how much but I would guess at least twice or more what I make... Kinda depressing as of now but the nuke stuff is looking better all the time.
:santa:
I'm a CAD Tech for a local gas and water utility company. Pay is good for what I do and excellent benefits. But I'm currently going to back to school for Network Technology. It's something I most likely won't use, but I just like learning more about computers.
Senior Draftsman, love my job. Come and go as I please, yearly raise of at least 3.5% (I usually get 6%-8%), 5 weeks paid vacation, 11 paid Holidays, Yearly Bouns and Monday Thru Friday with the chance of overtime every now and then.
Energy Auditor for a non-profit community action agency.
General Contractor as my second job.
I give away spiral lightbulbs, and new appliances to low income families to help them lower their el. bil. I also suggest ways for families to save energy on their own. On average a family will save about $15-$25 per month just from the bulbs.
