Question Tx/Ok Trucks.

I was reading my new Oklahoma Truck Trader magazine and saw that a dealer is selling a 2000 F-150 Tx/ok pkg, tilt, cruise, air for $15584. I figure from the picture that this truck is a plain jane model with a 6-cylinder and 5-speed. Anyone have any info on these trucks, such as options etc.?

my truck has a TX/OK package on it and so should Mudder's. I can't remember the details on it but my dad knows. if i can remember i'll pull out my window sticker and check that out. I think it has something to do with a rebate or some cost is taken off. I don't remember.

I was just reading about this Texas/Oklahoma thing yesterday and I'm not sure it is so much a package but rather a discount. Supposedly only available in the Southwest region, the restrictions & requirements are not yet available.
It is worth $668 off invoice or $785 off MSRP.

I guess for some reason the Southwest Ford dealers need a little help to kick butt.

I talked to one of my friends' who has a 1995 F-150 shortbed that came from Owen Thomas Ford in Stillwater Oklahoma(says on the sticker) his came with 2-tone paint, aluminum wheels, 6 cylinder and 5-speed, carpet, tilt, cloth seat and It doesn't say anything about a discount just a special package. Different stuff? I like the looks of those Tex/ok trucks. Sporty!

Pastmaster,
It has nothing to do with appearance or performance options. My truck is OK/TX package but it doesn't have two-tone paint or manual tranny. The carpet is due to it being a XLT. Tell him to look at his window sticker again where it lists Optional Equipment.
Like mine lists:
Preferred Equip. pkg $1500
4 spd auto $970
P255/70R16 OWL $245
3.55 axle No Charge
TX/OK/LA pkg -$500
202 #1 P/L.... $50
Front license bracket No Charge
Trailer towing pkg $405
Cast Aluminum wheels No Charge
Remote entry/anti-theft $255
6 cd changer $400

I dread taking my truck to Owens Ford, but they are the only Ford dealer nearby.

And there is this:
Special Regional Appearance Package (XLT 2WD)
Includes mesh grille insert, color-keyed grille surround and color- keyed mirrors. Available only in the following states/cities: Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Atlanta, Memphis and Orlando.
($0)
My truck doesn't have this package, originally it did have chrome grille and mirrors but since my dad is buddies w/ some of the guys up at the plant they sent my truck back in to have the color key grille and mirrors put on that it has now. I don't think this package existed when my truck was built in '96 (I could be wrong). I think at the time only 4X4's had color key grilles (and I could be wrong on this too).

Thanks for the info PonyEight6. I obviously was wrong about the truck info, maybe thats why the local ford dealer up here has trucks that are the same as down there.
