What to do?!?!
Ok. This weekend I am going to get my oil changed at the local dealership, home of the $9.95 oil change. Anyways I read somewhere that the dealership like to do a ECU and PCM check randomly sometimes, and right now I have a 93 octans tune uploaded. Do I need to flash back to stock before I let them take it? And if so, will I'd hurt the engine running on 93 in the stcok settings??
i would say unless your truck is under warranty then there is no reason that they should even touch anything other than what is done for the oil change unless there is a check engine light or another mil on
i know at my dealership we work at we dont even hook up the computer unless there is a specific reason to and then we automatically charge 1hr labor

i got them damn codes and i cant get them to go away i think im gonna replace every vaccum line in the truck cus i dont know what else it could be how many in. of vaccum should i be pullin at idle and idle with the truck in gear any ideas where i should start
no i never had those codes
but i have the 4.6 and those codes are usually on the 4.2L(which i see you have)
on the 4.2L it usually seems to be the intake gaskets similar to the 3.8L windstar motors
if you have a way of using a datalogger and watching the 02 sensor voltage if you take some carb spray and start to spray around the motor and vacuum lines and if the voltage jumps all the way up and stays there for a sec then there is a vacuum leak in that general area and then you can go from there
hope that helps

You think they would do that for free?
They can't just hook up a computer and charge you, so no, they ain't going to check ****, new or old.

OK. I was pretty sure they wouldn't. The main lady that runs the service desk used to work at the Ford dealership we had in town, so she knows my family really well, so she always lets us know what's up.
