Post F250 SD vs. F150

Can someone tell me a good reason why I ordered an F150 and not a SD F250?

I never really considered a SD because I assumed it was more expensive. Well, I looked at www.kbb.com tonight and it's within $500 of the same price for same equipment?!?!

Are F250s a lot more "truck-like" than F150s? Are they uncomfortable on a long road trip? Should I change my order to an F250? I REALLY like the looks of the SD....

I have never found KBB to be inaccurate on new car invoice prices. I have purchased three vehicles through fleet departments and KBB has been dead-on every time.

OK,
They may be correct on the new stuff but do you agree that on used they are WAY off?
Just checked out thier new catagory and it seems to be accurate and very easy to read.
Why can't they get it together in the used dept?

FordLover: The superdutys are more ruggedly built. If they're what you like then go for it. They are a bit stiffer on the ride than a F150 but hey it's a truck ment to work I've already test drove a 2000 diesel and it drove very nice. It's interior was way nicer than what I was expecting too. Go test drive one and if you really like it, drop the F150 and get the 250

A friend of mine has a 2000 F250SD Supercab, long bed w/7.3L Powerstroke 4x4, and I was impressed with the handling, ride, and the and power it had.

I'm going down to look at a 99 F250SD Lariat Supercab long bed w/7.3L Powerstroke 4x4. I may be trading in the F150 for it.

The F-150 is hard enough to park at the mall. Can you imagine parking a Super Duty?

Oh, you could park it, but there may be times when you'd have to leave your rear slider unlocked because that's the only way you're going to get back into it.

Thumbs up

Dennis: I've got a parking policy that I always adhear to: If the place dosn't have large enough spaces for my truck, then I don't shop there. The only exception I make to this rule is at the Dentist's office and I would just soon not go there either!! At All other places, I park out in the boonies. (excersize is good, you know) At home, when we built the garage, I had to do some searching to find a garage door that was bigger so my truck would fit. Ended up with a garage that is 28'x34' and a single door that's 8'x9'. Maybe I should test drive a superduty out to my house to see if it will fit

Tina,
My Super Duty - Crew Cab - Long Bed - 4x2 will fit under a standard 7' garage door (nearly an inch to spare ) I'm sure glad I didn't get the "Clearance Light Option - cause I wouldn't have Clearance then However, the garage is about two feet too short to get all of the truck in. If I had a Short Bed, it would have been real close.

I must disagree with the statement that KBB prices are incorrect for the Super Duty. I found them to be accurate. I guess a lot of 150 owners just refuse to believe how much more TRUCK you can get for the same $$$$.

Actually, I think Ford is just capitalizing on the popularity of the F-150. But I sure do see a lot of Super Duties running around out here.

If you just price them by the pound, a Super Duty is way less than the Light Duty. My truck weighs 6700 pounds and cost me $4.13 per pound. What's the price per pound of a F-150?

BTW - The F-250 Super Duty has 8 lug wheels.
