Unhappy Board going downhill?

For those of us that have been frequenting this board for some time now, I believe that many of you will agree that the board seems to be going downhill. Us "oldtimers" seem to be posting less and new posts seem to be critical instead of helping each other out. What happened!? I have not posted as much lately myself. For those of you that are new and may not understand the etiqute of the page it's really quite simple. (Pardon me if you will Steve/Webmaster) We are all here to help one another, open discussion is encouraged, yet calling someone elses ideas/thoughts stupid usually isn't! Note to my fellow "oldtimers".....hang around, you guys are a great crowd and I truly hope that we can get together one day for a huge bash!

I see in our profiles that I was registered five days after you so I don't know if I am an old-timer or not. What do you mean the board is going downhill? I have noticed some debate which is always fun but not deliberate insults. There is nothing wrong with friendly debate. Where is the thread you are speaking of?

Thumbs up

94 F-150, (Us old timers), what makes you or anyone else a "old timer"...
I joined 7/22 and the membership was hitting 2000 members, what name or type of member am I?
57 days sooner at joining this site than me, IMO, DOES NOT give any of us any more rights than someone joining today.
I see many good queetions and comments, that I've learned in the past months of enrollment.....
I hope I've also have helped someone at one time or another.
Everyone has his or her views, you expressed yours and I've done so, with this posting.
Take Care............

Hmmm before what date is considered an old timer?
I've seen many "new members" with registration dates before yours.
The new people have just a much right to post here as we do as long as they don't get offensive.
There is a big difference between a debate and personal attacks.
I'll also say that if I see any personal attacks in my post I'll pull the topic.
Ohh, I'm sorry I'm not an "old timer" yet, even though I have almost 700 posts.

Talking

Time to take a deep breath, folks. This is a great site and will survive. Change is neither good nor bad...it's how we deal with it that matters. Let's talk trucks.

My profile does not have the date registered, however I frequented the board in 8/98 when I ordered my 99. I would say the tone of the board has changed a little bit, it used to be quite serious about the problems with our trucks. Now in addition to the serious problem topics there are the light fun ones that get a lot of traffic. I do not see where these "personal attacks" are any different than they were a year ago **remember DANO** but they do flare up more often now because we have a lot more members( i think it was a little over 1500 when i started). The nice thing is now that the disagreements rarely get out of hand like some did a year ago. When you have more than one person you will have disagreements, that is human nature and I think they are handled very well on this board.

Well I guess I'm an old timer, cause it's almost been 8 months. Seems like just yesterday when I first logged on here and became a member. Now as for the board going down hill, well I don't know about that. I think that things have been going great, I always look forward to reading the new post and replies, and seein how everybody is doin. This site has been a great thing for me, it has definitely changed my life. I have made a few friends here, and even managed to find me a good woman I think the site gets better each day, and I thank you Steve for creating this site. Don't know what I'd be doin without it.
I consider a lot of you my friends and enjoy talking with you all, it's been a lot of fun.

Whhoooaaaa....
It seems as though the first sentence or two of my original post is sticking in everyone's head. I too agree that this site is fantastic and is a one of a kind that is greatly appreciated, but nobody seemed to read that line! Perhaps the whole thing was taken out of context! This may exactly be my point, seems as though I am getting thrown under the bus for stating my opinion. Isn't that what message boards are for!? I'll just leave it at that, those bus tires are BIG!!

94 F-150 You have just witnessed one of the things about this site that makes it great: We are just as protective of our fellow members (and this site) as we are of our Trucks! Take care, Andthensometoo.

Hello, ok first a stupid question.....how do you guys know when you signed on as a member (cant find it) also how do you know how many post you have made ?

Ok next yes there have been negative post in here, but everyone cant agree on everything.......especially when a member is laughing or boosting on an illegal act..of course i cant keep my mouth shout on subjects like that, but then again you dont have to read it either....I joined this site because everyone so far seems mature enough ( some crazy) to go out and have a good time with out going to jail....lol..I will find out at our Texas rally....Im all for fun, but not at other people expense..safety first....
Just my 2 1/2 cents...Dave
