Damn.. As if there isn't enough to fear already. Good point he made about what the investigation woulda been. No way would Chevy had admitted to spontaneous deploy of the airbags if he wrecked.

Same thing could be said for the cruise control problem on the Fords, and parking it in the garage. Could light the house on fire at night....

But yes the airbags thing is scary. Random crap happens on vehicles all the time. A truck can be safe but also a deathtrap.

My Tahoe gets return tomorrow and I have to say it was the only truck that Ive ever owned that didnt have one problem in 3 years. 60K and all we did was inspections and oil changes. BTW still keeping my F-150.

I am sure it is a one in a million chance that this would ever happen. I would think that anything with an airbag could be a victom of this but all my buddies drive Chevy Trucks. I have the only Ford. So I wouldn't pass up the chance to bash their trucks. Just like they never pass up a chance to slam my Ford.

What year was it? Our 03 Suburban keeps having u-joint and steering problems. It also has some of the loudest, most obnoxious belts ive ever heard.

In class when we learned about air bags, and safety concerning them (from the technician perspective) they told us The only 100% truly safe airbag is one that has already been deployed

just something to think about

When I was a parts guy @ the local Dodge dealer There was a tech that used a impact wrench to remove a part of an emergancy brake in the cab and some how that made both airbags blow...broke the windsheild and threw a whench that was on the dash @ him (it was his first week on the job)

What was really funny was the service writer trying to explain it to the customer what happend to his airbags and windsheild
