Exclamation Sandbags... Drats! White Snow Flakes!

I put in 4 60lb sandbags in the rear making it a total of 240 lbs over the axle plus my 800+ lbs of tools.

Today was the true test... a parking lot with 6 inches of wet snow with junk Hank00k tires... got out with no spinning.

So even if you've got 4x4, I recommend some sandbags, just for the sake of it. I actually like how the truck rides with them too... they seem like they take the rear end flop when hitting bumps attributing to a much smoother ride.

I use to carry bags of salt in the bed during the winter. 4x4 always worked but the salt was nice to have too. Where is Vernon at? I was at Fort Drum.

My 2wd F-150 handled 10" of snow just fine... with no weight in the back, other than my toolbox. Grow a pair and drive like a man, you Nancy.

So how did you secure the bags? If you slam into a tree or another vehicle, those puppies become air born heading right for the cab.
Ever notice the thick heavy duty steel plate between a semi cab and their hauling bed...protection!

This will be my first winter with my 02 Screw. My old Tahoe Sport never had many issues, and my Wrangler last year did ok, so long as i didnt veer off the clearing at high speed. I'm anxious to see how my screw does....hoping the rear isn't too light!

Well, an hour or so later and I'm at work. Was my first time kickin in the 4Whl for the roads were layered with ice and a light dusting atop that.
Truck did great. I need to hit a parking lot and play a little until i get used to it's sliding characteristics.
Of course, Michigan has declared a shortage of salt for the roads this year (whats next in this damn state?).
What really sucks is having a vehicle that can deal with the road conditions but stuck behind a yahoo rollin in a 2 wheel drive lunch box doing 20mph.

He was never not single. He tried flirting with Z-Man in a thread a few weeks ago.

My truck doesn't need sandbags.

We don't get nearly as much snow as we used to in MD. But when we do, I usually catch up to the guys that fly past me doing 60+mph in their new 4x4 SUV\truck. I'm able to do this since they're upside down crashed into a guard rail waiting for rescue and thinking to themselves, "how could this have happen to me? I have a 4x4!." I have a 4x4 SUV in my family as well, but I realize 4x4 isn't going to help me stop. People around here cannot drive in the snow at all.
