Cure for AIDS ?

http://news.aol.com/health/article/m...766x1200858753

I know, its not "the cure" but still, an interesting read. I have a couple friends suffering from this virus, so any progress is good progress. Figured I'd see what yall think about it.

What's up MT... Good topic. I saw this on the news last night but they just mentioned it, didn't really go into the details.

I think they could cure AIDS if they wanted to. This may be a fluke, but at least it shows that it is possible. If you had enough money and you were infected, you could get it cured I bet, or at least get it controlled to where it wouldn't effect your life all that much. Look at Magic Johnson, he was diagnosed with HIV what, like 15 years ago? He looks just as healthy and hasn't really shown any symptoms at all, at least that I've noticied or ever heard about. Granted he was a professional athlete so his immune system might be stronger than most others infected, but I'm sure he's thrown a lot of money at this disease as well. Money that most others don't have.

I wish your friends the best possible outcome. One of my firends brother's contracted it a long time ago through a blood tranfusion before they really know what was going on with it and how to test for it. He was one of those rare "Ryan White" cases (I think that was the kids name who had a similar situation), this was years ago though. My buddies brother held on for about 3 years and eventually died.

yeah youre accurate that was in the 80's when i was a youngun in IN,.... every now and again when we get on some disease topic my mom goes on about meeting that kid, and apparently i did at some point (again i was maybe months old), i guess those were hard times back then.... anyway i believe then gov could do more about disease elimination (stem cells, ect) although i bet it does take alot of money good read actually, i guess well have the answers when the time is right......
