Taking a truck to the North Pole!

I have become a big fan of Top Gear. The first time I heard of the show was in the Lightning forum some years ago, with the clip of Jeremy Clarkson bashing the Lightning... And Americans in general, for that matter. These guys really do have ***** the size of cantelopes though. Here they are making a trek to the Pole in a Toyota, and racing Richard Hammond, who's travelling behind a dog team.

If you'll notice, every episode of Top Gear can be found for free on the site I've linked, as well. For those that are unaware of it's existence... Enjoy!

An hour long but worth the time. Probably not for dial up. I'd love to have a HiLux like the one in the vid. I'd like to have a diesel Ranger but neither are available in the States. Thanks for the post!

I LOVE Top Gear. Last week's episode actually featured a CTS-V, the new Challenger, and the new Corvette ZR1

The Toyota Hilux is the smarter, better looking, and better built big brother of the Tacoma. Toyota went wrong when they started using different frames than the hilux some time ago. The 90's indestructible Tacomas were identical to the Hiluxes, that's why they were so good. Now the Tacomas we see are giant turds, while the Hilux still prevails.

That was an interesting video. Were they sleeping as the truck was driving at one point?

said it perfect right there, the other one up the hilux has over the tacoma is an available diesel. i used to be into toyotas (86-95 era) and the hilux from that time was hands down the most capable toyota

The part where they were driving over the thin ice was crazy.
I actually felt like I was about to go through the ice.

The Hilux has a reputation for being essentially indestructible.

I was hoping they'd pop a hole to see how thin/thick, but I bet that ice in that cold was more than thick enough, even along the shoreline, to be safe for a tractor trailer nevermind a 6000 lb truck.
That looked like thick ice IMO.

Even if it did go through, those tires would probably float the truck anyway
