If so many people say that the Big 12 doesn't play defense that you get tired of hearing it, then maybe they're onto something...10,000,000 Elvis fans can't be wrong!
Texas Tech has a good team, no doubt, cannot take anything away from those boys, but they just aren't the best in the nation. If they were, they would have been ranked in the top 3 before they were.
I mean, seriously now, they have had 2, maybe 3 actual games this year, the rest were kind of jokes. Eastern Washington? Please. Nevada, SMU, Kansas State, A&M, none of those really qualify anyone to call the team that beat them the best in the country. Oh, and let's not forget about going into overtime with Nebraska. Nebraska sucks pretty hard this year, but that flashy passing game didn't do too much againt them.
TT got past Texas, and I still say that was a fluke, and they embarassed Oklahoma State, but they shouldn't have been ranked as high as they were, anyway. We will see if they make it to the championship game, they have a few more games to get through before they do, but I think TT will beat Oklahoma, so we will see if and when they make it to the championship game whether or not they play a team with a real defense and what happens.
Are you high? .......... Uh, nevermind.

Nah, for real though, Texas Tech is great, but seriously, they aren't the best in the country. Any team that has 50 passing attempts in one game is ridiculously one-dimensional, and that is a novelty, only useful until someone stops the passing game.
Kansas, Oklahoma State and Texas are the only three teams that have actually been challenges (except for when they went into OT with sorry Nebraska), screens and shovel passes can only work so many times before a real team catches up to you.
My team is out of it this year, and I am not hating on Texas Tech, I could care either way, it will be a few years before my team is even in contention again.
TT are very good, those kids play hard, but their offense is not smash-mouth, not even west-coast, it's very pass-oriented and one-dimensional.
I am not an SEC fan, either, actually I hate them, but I know football, and while good, Texas Tech is not the best team in the country. If it takes time to prove me right, then I guess we will just wait, but you will see.

Your argument is a good one, but there is a flaw in your theory. There are no teams left with a good defense for TT to play. They will go undefeated.

No one seems to remember what happened a couple years ago in the Cotton Bowl, where TT came in with one of the highest rated offenses in the country. A good defense shut them down, to the tune of 10 points, resulting in an eventual loss to Alabama. Keep drinking the Kool Aid Tech, you will not get past a good defense. You have faced little, if any defense so far this year.
Hope to see you in Miami, where this will become evident once again......

If you really want people to give Tech some respect, how about giving a little in return. After all, the SEC has won the National Championship 3 times in the last 5 years.

I guess all that marijuana isn't helping clear up your vision pick up man. Pretty sure Tech's running game is the best it has been in a long time if not ever. Shannon Woods pounded texas and had a great game this week too. Also our other running back had a great game too. A flook that they beat Texas. Where do you buy your green man sounds like some good chit. Texas never showed up for that game. Tech played all 60 minutes of that game and the Longhorns showed up for maybe 7. I'm here to tell you de-nile isn't just a river in egypt. So why don't you put down your pipe and crawl out of your hole a realize what's really going on around you.

All I gotta say, is watch out SEC. You may think yall have some good defense...but yall are gonna crap your pants when yall see that there is nothing yall can do to stop the Red Raiders. I welcome the challenge, and my fellow West Texas boys are gonna make me proud.

Two years from today, a major SEC team is gonna implement the spread. If they don't, their conference is gonna go the way of the Big 10.

Tech's running game is the best they've ever had? That's not helping your cause since they're the #77 rushing team.

Also, saying that Tech played all 60 minutes of a game and Texas only showed up for 7 doesn't say much for Tech either. It was a very close game.

Compared to past years I would say yes. Tech's never really has had a running game or running back that can get consistent yards. Usually they would just run them in the screen pass. And yea it was a close game you're right. Texas is a good team and it scared me how fast they were able to score on us WHEN they were executing. But they were NOT executing. So please tell me how my previous quote does not make sense. Tech did a great job holding them back and taking advantage of their errors all game, then Crabtree and Harrell put together and amazing last play to capitalize on the victory. So why don't you just give credit where credit is due, as Tech blew out OSU by a bigger margin than Texas beat Baylor... Go be an SEC leg humper in another thread buddy.

Florida has been running the spread for several years now
Auburn tried it, but you probably know how far that got them.......
Bring it on, Texas

#77 in the nation, and that's the best they have had in a long time? Like I said, they are one-dimensional, no running game established.
Like you said, Texas played for maybe 7 minutes, and TT barely won. That makes the win a fluke. If they played again, and Texas was firing on all 8 cylinders, executed well and didn't just lay down and die on both sides of the ball like they did, it would have been a blowout for Texas.
Keep in mind, they haven't won chit yet, it's a long time until the Orange Bowl, so don't count all of your chickens before they hatch. How is that for knowing what is really going on around me? I know TT hasn't won any championship at all this year, and I know their running game is close to the very bottom of college football.
I haven't been high in a very long time, either. I wish I was. :o

Do you even watch football, or are you another Texas tech fan who thinks that since they beat Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma State that they are the end-all be-all of football? All the way back to Steve Spurrier, some SEC teams have ran variations of the spread offense, they just aren't so one-dimensional that they attempt 50 passes in one game. :P

We will see if they go undefeated or not, but you are mistaken on something. I am not arguing, I am stating facts. I don't care what Texas Tech does this year, like I said, my team is out of it for this year and probably next year. I do know football, though, very well, and I am just stating facts about the game and about certain teams.
Texas Tech may have it sewed up, there may not be a team with a defense good enough to stop them, but hey, that's why they have to play the games. They haven't won yet, and they need a better offensive strategy (and defensive for that matter, nickel/dime sets only carry you so far) to be a championship caliber team.

My only advice to you is to show some class and act like your team has been there before.

BTW, how will you feel when your coach is at an SEC school next year?

Mike Leach isn't going anywhere my friend, and why would the SEC want his 'one dimensional' offensive strategy?
