Did you use Blackstone? Did they have any comments?

Try posting on www.bobistheoilguy.com

No, I got the results from the party that is selling the unit, not sure who they used.

Is there a standard Diesel oil result table to compare the numbers I have?

Lead= bearings and possible fuel but not likely
Aluminum= pistons, etc
Copper=cam bearings, possible copper cored cooling such as oil cooler
Iron= block/cylinder wear, can also be corrosion from synthetic oil
Silicone= dirt, also can be sealants such as valve gasket sealant
Tin= various parts in the engine

You didn't say how many hours on the engine this oil was run. Generally, the make up of the additive package is included in the analysis and the important part- the TBN. As far as the metals shown in the list provided, I'd say it looks pretty stellar but there is not really enough info to make that determination and mean it. I don't know where you got this report from but it is highly incomplete. I can only hope you didn't pay money for it. If you did, try Blackstone Labs for a report that will give you far more info but you have to pay an extra $10.00 for the TBN which I highly recommend.

OCI/hours, mileage and engine type can play a huge role in any UOA. From my very untrained eye, wear looks like it is minimal. Post on the forum link I gave you, those guys eat that chit up.

It is also noted that the oil light is on........possible oil is going pump?

(they also have a few other ones that also show an oil light on.....)

It says the oil light turns off. On diesels like this the light is on at initial startup (a couple seconds) then clears when pressure rises as the motor come up to speed. Like in your truck oil pressure is zero then it increase once the motor is started but this just has a light that is on when the oil pressure is zero or low.

That makes sense, I never even thought of that.
