nevermind, went to the mac forums and figured it out.

i still have one problem tho. when i press f3 its supposed to kind of make it smaller and pull up all other app's i have open and show them all so i can click. instead it throws them to the side of the screen where you cant see them

First, what operating system are you on (Tiger, Leopard)? Go into your System Preferences (Apple Menu-->System Preferences). Then, go to the Exposé Preference Pane and see what's what (i.e.-which FN keys are associated with operating Exposé).

i haven't had anything wrong. i pressed like a random set of 3 buttons and it changed like 3 settings that were the most annoying 3 settings that could be changed.
