The process

Each president has their own ideas in regards to taxes and the economy. Just because Obama wants to raise taxes does not necessarily mean he will be able to. EVEN WITH a democratically controlled congress, raising taxes on big business hurts everyone with a 401K and stock options. The pattern of the budget for the past few decades has really mimicked a corporate standard, i.e. what needs to happen to keep the share holders happy. The irony is that we the people, the true share holders if you will, keep getting screwed. A democratic representative is not going to vote for a tax plan that puts his own value at risk. Other than war, the president can try push these bills through congress all he wants, but they have the right to keep turning it back. It is very rare that tax cuts or breaks get passed unless they benefit congress. Obama wants to lower taxes fro people making less than $250,00 and raise them for corporate America. Depending on how honest the reps are, I am sure many of them report more than $250,000 to the IRS. The other case in point is that raising taxes on big business ALWAYS backfires because corporations pass those taxes on through lower wages, less benefits and higher prices. It blows my mind how easily the population is manipulated by these yo-yos and their "words". If people really understood they would be asking for a flat tax and yet every candidate to date that has proposed this issue gets shot down or dismissed. And then inevitably some moron writes a story about how so and so is making a drastic change for fear of "rising" taxes. It is such a load of dung people. People need to perk their ears up and pay attention to phrases like "fair tax" and flat tax. Instead they get all emotional, stupid and one sided with their ignorant finger pointing and party siding when instead they should be advocating for their own welfare.
It's all empty words until some one pulls the trigger.
