Lightbulb Goodnight GMC

So my Fiancee and I are laying in bed trying to go to sleep when we hear this crashing sound outside of our bedroom window (our apartment is next to the road with only a ditch between us). I grab Hollie because she sleeps on that side of the bed and pull her over on my side getting ready to throw her off the bed in case something comes through the window. We wait about 10 seconds for everything to settle and then run to the window to see what happpened.

This guy in a GMC has driven off the road and avoided our fence. I hear him put it in gear and then begin to move forward and get stuck, so of course he punches it. At first I thought it was maybe still muddy, but then I begin to see smoke coming from his tires and then it clicked. He had high-centered over an above ground drainage pipe. So he lays off the gas and reverses and puts in back in drive, only to have the same result.

Well this genius then decides to reverse it again, and I guess he mustered up all the brain cloud left in his brain and revs out the engine and drops the tranny into drive. Boy what a sight that was on a dark night. He hits the drainage pipe and then sparks begin to fly as he attempts to continue on followed only by a truck dying and hearing the open gears wind down.

The guy gets out confused by all the "mud" he must be in and walks around the truck a couple times and then hops back in and starts her back up, only this time it sounds like he has a rod knocking. He attempts to put it into gear only to hear a very loud grinding sound. He keeps trying and eventually the truck dies out with the gears trying to engage.

He's still out there but I have to be up at 5am and he's off the roadway so I'll leave him be! Just thought it was a funny story as we were sleeping.

Wow... be lucky the idiot didn't come through your window.

Kudos to the idiot in the Got a Mechanic Comin, because he's gonna need one for that screw up.

I look outside of my window & see a XL Suburban with all four wheels pointing towards the sky! I laughed my **** off, then called 911!......(LOL)...

Well, I came home from work one day, and a freaking Mustang was in my yard!

Not the pony, I mean the Mustang GT.

Some kid apparently couldn't control those 300 horses.
Luckily he got it stopped before he hit my house.

Which reminds me- I'm gonna drill some holes around my house, behind my shrubs, and fill them to about 3' high (behind the shrubs) with rebar and concrete.

I know it's illegal (so I've been told), but I'd rather be prosecuted by the state, than have to attend someone's funeral who lives in my house, because some idiot can't keep his/her car in the street where it belongs. Living in Texas, at least once a month, the news will show where some dummy drove through someone's kitchen, living room, bedroom, etc...

I've seen it twice so far, in October- and I don't watch the news everyday anymore.

Adding that of things to do when we find a house, along with a full size generator with automatic switch over for when power goes out. I can thank Ike for that one, 8 days...no power

I've always wanted to do the generator thing... Stems from my time in the Army, I think... I want full functionality at my house, to include AC...

I have friends down in Houston who were sweatign it out down there, after Ike went through, and "summer" (90+ degrees) charged back in place.

Being a police officer, our station is NEVER without power, and I want that at my residence also. My step-grandparents have one and they absolutely loved it. They were without power for approximately 5 minutes while they went outside and turned that sucker on!
