Carpal Tunnel, twice same hand

I just had the second surgery on the same hand.
I'm tired of this, three more surgeries to go on my arms.
The drugs are taking their toll on my weight. I have lost 50lbs in the last two years from the combinations of painkillers taking my appetite away.I'm just hoping this time it heals properly.
The bone fusion in my neck is healing slowly,
With the lorcet, xanex and oxicotin, the cobwebbs in my head are taking over.
I never thought I'd be tired of taking pain medecine, but this is rediculous. I went to see a new Dr. yesterday, when he looked at my OMG[nerve test] he said "How soon do you want to start?". I said "tomorow". So here I sit ranting while typing with one finger.
Wish me luck, or pray for me, or whatever you do best. It will all be apreciated.

[/rant]

Good luck, man. Keep your head up. Praying for you a speedy recovery and an end to the pain.

I do a lot of work in hospitals and funeral homes, deal with my aging Dad and Father-in-law. I hope the absolute best for you, but I have a view on getting old that you don't want to hear Brother.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers in a positive way!! Good luck man!!

I went to the Dr. for a followup today. The nurse took the bandages off, the incision looks like a small railroad.
When the Doc came in the exam room, he said it was pretty bad in there. Lots of scar tissue and the nerve had grown back together.
I'm hoping to get one more surgery in before the end of the year, because I've met my maximum amount of out of pocket expense on the insurance for the year.
I guess the shoulder will be next, as there is a cyst in there causing hopefully the rest of the problem with that arm, and up into the neck.
If this were Monopoly I'd own all the Railroads.

Thanks for the thoughts!

I feel for you Tumba...

While I don't suffer from it; my wife does. Her's is very intermittent and will act up similar to arthritis. She's not one to gripe very often so, when she's talking about the pain, I know it's really bothering her.

She's gone in twice (I think) for it and has been told both times that there's really nothign that can be done. As such, I'm interested in hearing what your doctors are telling you with regards to what they can do. I understand that every case is different and it's certainly not an apples to apples comparison here but, any information is probably more than what we've really had from this end.

Best of luck getting all the railroads for McDonald's Monopoly. Sorry... poor humor.

I hear ya, man.
Been on Hydrocodone for a month.
No appetite, I have lost between 10-15 lbs.
Cobwebbs - check, (have you seen my posts this month)
I cut my dosage in half and have been drug free for two days.
It is still in me, I can feel it.
I have to wiene myself because I want to go back to work Monday.
The doc may say no but, I am planning.

I'm looking at shoulder surgery(s) in the future(torn rotator or laberum), right now my goal is to get out of this wheelchair.

Wishing you all the best,
Hey, this little guy is just like me can only wave one arm.

Thanks for the warm wishes.

A long story short, it started about 12 years ago, with a back injury. The surgury to fix it is very dangerous [calapse a lung type stuff]. I worked hard and even harder at work and hobbies [working with my hands] to keep my mind off the pain. Big mistake!
While wood carving one night I pushed just a little to hard and bent a thumb backwards, when I flinched from the pain a disc in my neck ruptured. I lost the use of my right hand for a short time, and am now getting things fixed so I can somewhat function.
The bad thing is, my body keeps building scar tissue and reconnecting nerves.
My wife bought me a laptop to help keep me busy
The story got long, but that is how I've ended up here, pestering the hell out of you guys

I'm tired of the drugs to Raoul , I have to take quite a few.
