I WAS JUST WONDERING, I OWN A 03 HARLEY SC, AND I WAS WONDERING "DOES A HARLEY AND A LIGHTNING HAVE THE SAME EXACT ENGINE???? I'VE NEVER SEEN A LIGHTNING ENGINE, THE ONLY INFO I KNOW IS THAT LIGHTNING IS MADE BY SVT AND I THINK HARLEY IS MADE JUST BY FORD RIGHT???? JUST SOME CURIOUSITY........ SINCE WHEN BUYING AFTERMARKET PARTS FOR A HARLEY , THEY BASICALLY FIT THE LIGHTNING AS WELL...... HUH

Hi, welcome to F150online.

Yes, the HD and the Lightning engine are exactly the same.
The HD has a larger upper pulley on the blower (3.14" vs 2.93" on the L) and a slightly fatter tune which gives it 340 hp compared to 380hp (360 0n 99-01 L) of the Lightning.
The HD also has regular F150 Screw brakes and shocks. The Lightning gets F250 brakes, Bilstien shocks and a rear sway bar.
Apart from the 2 extra doors and about 1000lbs extra weight, they are the same.
Any mod that you can make or get for the Lightning works just as well on the HD.
If you drag race, mod for mod, a Lightning will be approx. 1 second faster over the quarter mile because of the weight difference.

There is, as pointed out, a section dedicated to the HD although it doesn't get much traffic.

Hey thanx Englishadam for that info. It kind of sucks that we have people like the first two fools that posted, that are only looking for details and not the questions. People like you are the ones who make the forums hella-fun. Thanx once again.

It's tedious to read something in all caps. I'm lazy. So I don't read it.

I like how someone comes in with their first post, acts dumb by typing in all caps and in the wrong section. Then has the nerve to talk trash about someone pointing out that he is in the wrong section, and shouldn't be typing in caps.

Oh noez!!! The OP haz failed at teh Internetz. What a Noob.

So what? Ok, he left the Caps lock on (big deal) and posted in GD.
Perhaps being a new guy, he didn't know. Now he does and hopefully liked the welcome you have given him to the site. :o

In the words of Thumper (not that one, the cartoon one) "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all"

Then maybe he should have said thank you to the first two people that replied, for explaining to him the proper way to post on this site. Instead he acts like a jack ***, just because you don't have a problem with it doesn't make it not a problem.
