Help

Hey everyone Its been awile since I was last here. Hope all is well. I just purchased an 08 f450 king ranch and i want to mod it right away. Nothing too intrusive dues to warranty reasons. So Ill ask what tuner to go with. What exhaust if any should I change. Also is anyone here driving the same rig.

With a diesel you can only go one way..... STRAIGHT PIPE They sound amazing straight piped and that would be the ONLY way that I would ever do it

I think that if you add a tuner, you will be facing warranty issues.

If you value your warranty, you'll leave that truck alone.

Ford is especially merciless on issues with the 6.4; mod it all you want, just remember that you gotta pay to play. If something blows up as a result of those mods, it's on you.

Just pull off the stock exhaust system and bolt on a turn down. If the truck ever has to go to the Ford dealer, just unbolt the turn down and stick the stock exhaust back on

I don't find that funny, as a dealer guy. You'd be wasting my time and money playing stupid games like that.

Your kidding right? Ford designed the truck. And you want them to warranty it no matter what some bozo does to it in the way of mods? that is ridiculous. You think buying a truck is expensive now... if they let people mod them and then cover them with a waranty... the cost for everyone would double.

BTW.. you can't modify the exhaust so easy on the 6.4 The computer sees any changes and lets you know by making it not run. Banks and others may have a kit now.. but it isn't like the old diesels.

You can mod it all you want. Just understand that if it breaks while operating outside of designed parameters, the dealer nor manufacturer should have to foot the bill.

Besides, why should Ford cater to the aftermarket? Their responsibility is to deliver a reliable product that operates within the limits they established.

Without jeopardizing your warranty coverage, no, there isn't. Mod away all you want, again, if it breaks it's on you. Ford went through this hardcore with the 6.0 liter, they won't cut any slack with the 6.4 and modifications.

ok

Would a edge dashmount tuner do anything worth while. Also I am not complaining about fuel consumption I just want to know if theres anyway way to consume less diesel fuel. I do not want to cut anything off or void the warranty. I have a edge tuner on both my fx4s and I have had n/p.

If anything goes wrong, can't you just flash it back to stock and then pull the programmer out and give the truck to the dealer?

I dunno, with all the emissions controls on the 6.4, a lot of people have been reporting worse fuel economy than the older vehicles. Just the nature of the beast, I guess.
