Hate to say it....

Hate to say it... and i am sure you guys will hate me to. But i just drove a 2009 dodge ram crew cab 4x4 and loved the hell out of it.

Truck looks far better then any pics ive seen, and the interior i think surpasses the new 09 f150's.

The power you feel when you put your foot on the gas pedal was great. And the ride was super smooth.

Will be trading mine 08 screw in by 2010-2011 for the ram.

Your saying this now, but wait till the 2010 f150s come out with the diesel. They will smash the dodge into the ground and dont go from what u see there are reports everywhere out there how dodges are not reliable in the long term I have a buddy that has an 06 and all he has had is problems but I am just giving you my opinion. But good luck with your decision.

hate to say it.. but your stupid.. lol

honestly fords are the best buy across the country right now IMO... heck I got nearly $12k off my sticker and that was back in March.. I've seen some F-150s around here advertised for up to $15k off.. and I seriously doubt your going to get any decent discounts off the new '09 Ram...

so here's the math.. lets compare an '08 F-150 vs an '09 RAM and lets say you have two "comparable" trucks that are around $40k msrp.. and I'll be conservative with my numbers

08 F-150
$12.5k off a new 08 F-150 at pretty much any big dealer across the states
the 08 exterior is obviously much better than any '09 going on the market
sure, the performance might not be as good "stock", but you have over $12.5k from the discounts to play around with..
What you might pay : $27,500

09 Ram
maybe, about $2500 off the sticker.. I doubt you will get too much off, mainly because it's new, and there are other stupid people out there trying to buy it too..
the 09 exterior is fugly in comparison to the 08 f-150 or even the 08 ram
What you might pay : $37,500

I'm not gonna start a F-150 vs Ram thread debate here.. but in all honesty, dollar for dollar, an 08 F-150 is a much better buy right now.. heck, I'd even buy an 08 Ram before I bought the 09.. you would atleast be getting similar deep discounts like the 08 f-150s

I agree the new dodge looks real sharp. I especially like how the dual exhaust is integrated into the bumper. Looks real clean. But I remember when they rolled out the last major design change in the early 2000's. All types of quality control and mechanical issues. But, to each his own...as long as you own an American car.

I like the new RAM, but that RAM box option is more expensive than I think it should be.

But comparing 08' F150 vs 09' RAM isn't a good idea. The F150 is already 4 years old and about to be replaced.

Wait a bit until you can compare both sets of trucks face to face.

I got to see an 09 xlt 4x4 next to a 09 ram 2x4 this week in Abilene ks. I was surprised by how much I like the looks of both, the F150 is amazing inside and out. It was absolutely beautiful and I didn't like the pics on the net. The ram was also really cool looking from the outside, and I hated the pics of it on the net. The "overbite" from the pictures is not nearly as prominent in person, however the exhaust I didn't like and the interior was not as good as the F150.

To me the bumpers on the 09 Ram looks cheaply made. Takes away from the beefy look. Been reading how the 09 F150 slays the 09 Ram in every aspect in test drives. Honestly I'm not surprised.

good luck, you'll regret the Dodge.

I have one in the driveway right now...and I wished I had never set eyes on that damn POS. It's only redeeming factor is the 5.7 Hemi. Everything else is cheaply made and looks just like some of the run o' the mill import trash.

Dodges are pure trouble. I've had mine since April and it's been in for service 5 times. The worst so far has been the PCM replacement.

Ford has their **** together in most respects. Dodge is still trying to figure it out.

After driving the Tundra, Silverado, Ram and 09 F-150 during an event in Dearborn Thursday and Friday, I'll say, with GREAT confidence that it was the WORST of all four.

Am I biased? Yes. Was I trying to be open minded while I tested all of the four that were there? Yes. Did the 09 F-150 win 'hands down' in all of the events? No but, it did win each (not by a large margin in at least one of the tests) Did the F win overall? Yes, easily.

no i have not driven the 09 f150 yet... have not even seen one in person.

i think the new fords just look to darn ugly. I guess i will wait to see one before i make my decision. I also hated the new rams till i saw one... then i loved it.

So who knows... i just can not stand the new tailgate and taillights on the 09 f150. i have had 3 ford trucks in a row and loved each one, thought i would never turn to another truck, then pow i saw the 09 and said to myself i will never buy that.

i guess i could always wait til the rapture comes out and just buy it.
