Mods - Why was the "How dare the court" thread removed?

Did I miss something? Has the entire thread been deleted? If so, why?

Yeah that sucked as we had a good discussion going. My guess is some one started with personal attacks. Religion came up and we all know things usually go down quickly at that point

As long as the discussion was going and it was civil, it was left alone. It had deteriorated into insult slinging and name calling. That will get a thread closed every time.

It was Habibi's fault. He just couldn't leave well enough alone.

I see exactly whet you are saying Jim but the thread was not closed and locked. It was totally deleted.

If someone crosses the line in a thread, why not just moderate that individual post, say why it was done as a warning to everyone else and let the thread continue?
Deleting the entire thread seems a little harsh.

There were several posts and I was tired, didn't want to have to harvest the bad ones. Took the easy way out.

I never got into the thread.
I understand the dissappointment when members make what are to them, valid point posts and it all dissappears.
We as a site learn nothing.

I do get an education when a thread is 'Locked'.
Everyone can still read the good stuff.
More importantly, everyone can see 'Ah Hah!' so that is over the line, that is the verbage that got it locked.

I realize that sometimes the text is too rough to remain.
A lock with the ending note that some posts were deleted would also work as an educational tool.

Dissappearing threads, just means like/same appearing again and we do not grow as a community.

Guess I'll throw this one on the list of topics that can't be discussed. Alphabetically, it will go between..........Fat Chicks on MySpace, (Gay Marriage), Legalization of MJ.............

That thread was getting good, I thought. Oh well. Can't blame the mods though, they got a tough job with the jokers on this site. You guys are doing a great job IMO, keep it up fellas. No complaints.

Ok, I deleted 7 or 8 posts and reopenned it. This is an experiment to see if you guys can keep it civil this time. We will not tolerate insults of other members or personal attacks.

CrAz3d, we would all be happy if you DID keep your posts restricted to the weather.

Big mistake!
You never should have admitted you had such super powers.
Now the pressure will be relentless to not delete.
(not from me though)

You are probably correct. I certainly will not make a habit of it!
