Just like any other sport. Have your favorite team, and then teams you like. Nascar you have your favorite driver, then other drivers you like. They compete in games/races weekly to determine the winner of the whole season/cup. So like I said, just like any other sport. 
Try watching a race, just the last 50 laps. Chose someone you want to win, thats near the front. Then see how it ends, and see the competition going on, then you should understand. Try a race like Daytona, or Talladega, usually more exciting.

decent race last night. i dont mind seeing burton in victory lane. :clinkmugs:
my boy jr cant catch a break lately. 2 races in a row with a poor finsh through no fault of his own.
