Hood latch seized up

Hi folks -

Newbie here - sorry if this is not the correct forum.

I have a 98 and the hood latch has seized up. It started stiffening up and then I took the truck off the road for a year went back to jump start it and couldn't get the hood opened. It's not the cable - it's definitely the latch hinge that's stuck - I tried oiling it and moving it by hand before I took the truck off the road.

Anyone know how to release it? Hopefully without having to take the front end apart.

Thanks.

Welcome to f150 online! Can't think of much else other than WD-40 for that.

Thanks - tried the WD40 but I only had a couple hours so maybe it didn't have time to soak in - also you can't really see where it's going so I could have missed the thing entirely. I have nightmares of having to take a sledgehammer to the grill.
