McCain is taking Obama to school on the conflict between Russia and Georgia. Obama has been the pupil for the past couple minutes. McCain sounds extemely knowlegeable on foreign relations!

Why does Obama keep interrupting McCain? Shut Up already!! You had your turn, let John speak!!

I liked McCain's grin throughout the debate too. Made it look like Obama had no idea what he is talking about. lol

McCain already has ads out from the debate. It has Obama saying over and over that he agrees with McCain and that McCain is right.

John McCains website has a lot of Debate facts listed that you can click on and get more information about both Obama and McCain's stance on issues.

McCain has and always will have the National Security issue in my opinion. No question about it. He's got the experience, not only as a soldier but also as a diplomat.

I'm just concerned with the day to day welfare of this nation. That's where I think he's out of touch. And let's face it, even if he's elected, its Palin 2012 (if not sooner).

Well, I watched the whole thing on CNN Internet. The economy left me with both men not having a clue how to fix it. McCain wants to try the Reagan way of lowering taxes. Maybe that would work and maybe it's too late for it. Obama wants to throw more tax dollars at the issue. I know lots of folks that don't have any more tax dollars to give and still eat. But over all, both men were not impressive to me concerning the economy. Foreign affairs, it's McCain hands down. Obama is just not equipped to deal with it and lacks the experience that McCain brings to the table. But I'm sure Obama can hire somebody that would front the foreign affairs for him. Other Presidents have done it and so could he.
McCain- I was impressed that he didn't fall for Obama trying to get McCain mad and lose focus. McCain was very direct with his answers and spoke very intelligent about the issues and cited numbers, people, etc. He was very stately in his presentations.
Obama- I was impressed he could actually speak with out a teleprompter. Actually, he was very polished tonight and eloquent. He wasn't as good at bringing actual numbers, people, places, to the issues but he spoke with more authority than I expected. While some may have seen him as a moron when he stumbled a few times, I wonder how many of us would stumble on a National debate? I thought he was at his best tonight.
So for me, I'd have to score it McCain 55, Obama 45. It was a lot closer than I expected as I didn't expect much at all from Obama.

This is nothing unusual. They are politicians.

According to CBS Obama said 7 or 8 times "I agree with John McCain"....

On the other hand McCain said 7 or 8 times "Obama just doesn't understand"

I can see how both sides see it as a win, of course they always do anyway. But I do have one observation to make. In the past Bush has been criticized for his public speaking, in particular his accent. I've been told time and time again by liberal friends about how Bush even sounds like some dumb hick. Well for me personally, I'll take that dumb sounding accent over the ummm's and ahhhh's and stuttering of Obama. It drives me nuts. I can't say I haven't done the same, but when speaking publicly take the time to come up with an appropriate response prior to opening your mouth. It just discredits what you have to say when you preface it with "ummmm.... ahhhh.... the the the the the real reason for..... blah blah blah."

At least McCain has kept his trademark "my friends" phrase to an absolute minimum.

Pretty good debate, looks like a photo finish.
They both had their strengths.

I don't know that Obama calling McCain "John" was the correct thing to do, but there's a couple different ways you can look at it.
