If Obama gets into office this country will fail in many areas. Unlike many dems I don't want to see our country fail; that's why I'm voting for McCain. Bush doesn't get any credit when things go well, why should Obama get any if he is elected.

Obama is on the wrong side of too many issues. It may take 4 years of Obama for the country to realize it wasn't so bad under Bush. It's a lose lose for Obama. If he is elected all his associations will come back to haunt him even worse, all the things brushed under the rug will come to light, and his empty suit will be exposed. If he is not elected he will fade into the periphery just like John Kerry. There is no good outcome for Obama unfortunately.

If McCain wins and he is a true reformer and things get better it will be a total surprise to all you Dems. If he gets in and screws up like you expect him too, then you all say "I told you so!" His expectations are much lower than Obama's.

Obama has a lot to live up to with everything he's promised under his mantra of CHANGE!! He is being set up for failure.

Luckily for America, Obama is going to fail in November.

I have never posted a disrespectful post about Mccain or Obama. If either gets in and screws up we are all screwed. About 45% of the country agrees with you and about 45% disagrees with you right now as Mccain slips in the polls. Part of the republicans problem is that you either agree with them or you are a fool lumped in the they are all wrong evil people group...I think that attitude is going to come back to haunt them and may beat Mccain faster than Obama alone ever could.
Personally I don't like things about both of them that give me cause for concern as a moderate conservative.

Whoever wins I hope it's a real win for America.

I think Todd Zywicki of Volokh Conspiracy absolutely nailed it when he said:

And just one other observation as it relates to foreign policy (the subject of this debate). For those of you who think that Barack Obama is qualified to be President more than Sarah Palin is to be Vice-President because of foreign policy issues, I'm sorry, but watching tonight's debate that is simply an absurd position. Maybe they are both qualified (my view, although it is much easier to argue that Obama is qualified to be Vice-President as Obama's lack of executive experience in making decisions and general aridity do worry me in seeing him as President in a world of Putins), or maybe they are both unqualified (although both seem obviously qualified to be Vice-President). But the idea that Obama is qualified to be President and Palin unqualified to be Vice-President has never struck me as a particularly plausible position--and after last night, even less so.

They blindly defend him because there's a large number of people that actually love him for being arrogant. It makes him one of them. They don't want coherent sentences or a firm grasp of world affairs. They want someone who is their type of person; a rob from the rich, give to the poor, Robin Hood giving liberal. The operative word being liberal. He's their Karl Marx.

I guess when you have no talking points, you shoot for the insult.

Just a thought about experience.....

The original concept of self government back when we started to rule ourselves was that the average citizen would donate a few years of his life to serve, and then go back to their normal life. Now we have Senators and other "public servants" that are lifers.

More experience in government is not such a good thing. After a few years the people are part of the problem and not part of the solution. Term limits for all I say.

I do not say this in defense of Palin: clueless is clueless.

So, they give obamasMOMMA, the nu guy in this thread, an A, and you grade me with an F? Oh, I think I see what standard standard you are following.

You present yourself as a pretty smart guy. I'd think that you'd understand the "talking points" that I'm bringing to the table. I thought the elite left were masters of nuance. I obviously couldn't have been writing something for the righties, because as was stated they are stupid. They only know god, guns and whatever else it is they are accused of "only" knowing.

I didn't "shoot for the insult". I brought up a valid point. I understand that this thread is about Palin. This election isn't though. This election is about Obama. All this criticism of Palin is conveniently a distraction from Obama. Apply some of the same questions and standards to Obama. He's the guy running for the top job. He should be getting the same scrutiny that Palin is getting.

What is the insult anyhow? If people looked at the link that I posted about Karl Marx and then look at where Obama stands on various issues, they might see some parallels. Maybe enough people want a classless society. I can't embrace ideas that contradict everything that I've seen generations of my family, and of many families, do to create a good life for themselves. Community is important, but in a community everyone has a job to do. Everyone puts in. Everyone takes care of their familiy. That's not the case in this country. Too many people have figured out how to get a little bit here, a little bit there, at the expense of someone else. Even people who are going to vote for Obama know this. I just think that a lot of people don't know a lot about Obama.

Palin does lack experience. That may be troubling to you, especially if for some reason, you think that McCain will die before he can get through a term. (It's strange to me that people would come to that conclusion considering all the people his age that we encounter every day who are doing fine and will live for many more years.) She really needs to brush up on foreign policy. She's also got to work at being prepared for interviews. I'll bet that she'll be an asset when it comes to budget decisions. That will encompass many aspects of our lives. There are a lot of things that we need in this country, and we should really have a team who is willing to make the tough decisions and make budget decisions based on need and not based on who is the highest bidder. Foreign policy is always changing. She's got to brush up on past policy, kind of like one would in a college course. New policy will be different than previous. The world is changing rapidly. I think that with a brush up on the history she'll be ready to deal with the future.

People are willing to give Obama a pass on his short comings. He'll figure it out as he goes, right? Palin though. God, she's a train wreck. She should be home making dinner or something, right? People are willing to give Obama a pass, even though he's vying for the top position. He's had as many flubs as Palin has in ther reletively short careers, yet Palin is stupid. He studders, stammers, and has a long list of gaffes from the past six months and Palin is taking heat for a few less than stellar moments. If you bring Biden into the mix, it makes it that much more difficult to understand why people are going on this tangent about Palin.

It's fair to scrutinize Palin. You can even insult her for all I care. She's not my friend. I don't even know her. If you're going to do that and not look at Obama to ask the same questions of him, you're missing something. Obama is the one running to lead our country. Palin is running as a second in command. Obama has a lot of skeletons in his closet. We've got some information about his past. If we're going to ridicule Palin we should at least be asking for some clarification on some of Obamas past decisions and associations.
