Kouric - Palin Interview
Kouric - Palin Interview
Here
Couric: Would you support a moratorium on foreclosures to help average Americans keep their homes?
Palin: That's something that John McCain and I have both been discussing - whether that ... is part of the solution or not. You know, it's going to be a multi-faceted solution that has to be found here.
I'm quite sure you will all feel that this only required a simple yes or no answer just like when Bill O'Reilly asked Obama about abortion.
Couric: You've said, quote, "John McCain will reform the way Wall Street does business." Other than supporting stricter regulations of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two years ago, can you give us any more example of his leading the charge for more oversight?
Palin: I think that the example that you just cited, with his warnings two years ago about Fannie and Freddie - that, that's paramount. That's more than a heck of a lot of other senators and representatives did for us.
Couric: But he's been in Congress for 26 years. He's been chairman of the powerful Commerce Committee. And he has almost always sided with less regulation, not more.
Palin: He's also known as the maverick though, taking shots from his own party, and certainly taking shots from the other party. Trying to get people to understand what he's been talking about - the need to reform government.
Couric: But can you give me any other concrete examples? Because I know you've said Barack Obama is a lot of talk and no action. Can you give me any other examples in his 26 years of John McCain truly taking a stand on this?
Palin: I can give you examples of things that John McCain has done, that has shown his foresight, his pragmatism, and his leadership abilities. And that is what America needs today.
Couric: I'm just going to ask you one more time - not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation.
Palin: I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you.
I bet Biden's shaking in his shoes - not, and he has enough of a hard time saying the right thing himself!

What a f**king bs and biased interview. I would LOVE to see Couric interview Biden or Obama and compare and contrast the epic differences.
And of all points to try and get at, what the hell does it matter if Palin knows specific details of specific events during his career? Honestly, how the hell does that even matter?
All that proves is that Palin doesn't make a living studying the specifics of the PAST, and instead focuses on the future. OH no...

It's strictly BS to question her about what McCain did or even what he will do. What they shoud be asking is what she would do. What her beliefs are. They are attacking this way as it is the only way to seemingly make her look bad. They only make themselves look stupid and bad.

Is Hannity the conservative guy, or the liberal guy? I saw an interview but I'm not sure which it was.
The one I saw seemed to me to be an opportunity for Palin to clear the air. It clearly wasn't intended to be a "tough" interview, but more of an opportunity.
You watch the CNN "Revealed" series? IMO the Fox interview was a way for Palin to respond to the BLATANT bs bias from CNN in their show.
ALL FOUR of the Revealed series were out of control...I can't believe there hasn't been back lash because of it.

Who ever said an interview HAS to be pointed? What about Letterman and Leno- they interview their guests nightly and it is not pointed or rude...are those press releases too?
So Palin is cautious about putting words in John McCain's mouth regarding a delicate issue currently being negotiated (the foreclosure issue).
Seems appropriate for a VP candidate if you ask me.
Yeah, Palin should have had a better response on John McCain's accomplishments, and she can be faulted for that answer. But since most voters will be voting for the top of the ticket and not for the VP, McCain will have plenty of chances to compare his accomplishments to his opponents. Whether Palin can spit them out to Katie Couric on command in September is not going to hurt McCain in November.
FWIW, the selection of Palin as a VP has accomplished two things:
1) It has energized the conservative base
2) It has drawn many women voters to the Republican ticket
You liberals may not want to acknowledge point #2, but it will be born out on election day.
Basically, if Obama had swallowed his pride and offered the VP slot to Hillary, he would be the next president. Not even vetting her was a bonehead maneuver, and left the door open for McCain.

Palin really should take some notes from Biden. He tends to open his pie hole a little too quickly. Biden seems to differ from Obama on coal power in the US:
Working the rope line in Maumee, Ohio, the Senator was asked by an environmentalist why he and Mr. Obama support "clean coal." "We're not supporting clean coal," Mr. Biden responded. Then, riffing on China's breakneck construction of new coal plants, he continued, "No coal plants here in America. Build them, if they're going to build them, over there."
As for "clean coal," the Obama campaign actually supports it.

Take Two
Hope this is not a repost, too many posts going on the last few hours.
Foreign Policy:
Not included in what I have seen posted here earlier on the Katy/Palin interview clips.
This time, I think Gov. Palin did rather better. Not good, but giving credit where credit is due.

Not true, she is the one always pushing McCains position. Well I shouldn't say always, but in the few interviews she does, that is usually how she starts.
