Ive used limewire for 6 years now with not a single issue.

Unless, Arca....wanna prove me wrong? Not being sarcastic but I think it be fun to find out if I have anything that was downloaded by limewire (besides my thousands of songs) that would allow someone to get to my info.

But ontopic, again, I have never had a issue with limewire, nor johnny law, nor identity theft, nor viruses (that I know of).

But I'll be damned if I am going to PAY for music.

 

I know someone that ran across a busy freeway and lived- so running on the freeway is 100% safe.

Sorry, but Limewire is a WELL KNOWN massive trojan/virus/spyware installer and it has back doors up the yin yang. I wouldn't touch Limewire with a 50 foot pole...

 

The best kind of virus or trojan is the kind that is undetectable.


If you have AIM or MSN I'll be happy to show you. I promise no actual harm will be done, but it'll put into perspective what CAN be done without you having so much as a hint. I'll give you a song through a file transfer as an example of Limewire, then I'll show you a screenshot of your computer screen, and everything you typed since you opened the song for 5 minutes. I'll put in a 'self-destruct' for the keylogger, it just deletes itself after said amount of time causing no other harm. This, again, is just a light example. I can forcibly shut off your computer without your consent, edit, move, delete files as I see fit, embed polymorphic trojans that will spread itself to every computer on your network, that sort of stuff. And if you're on the ASU network Well that's bad news, because if I decided that the ASU network should cease to exist, you'd be the one getting kicked out and facing federal charges.

Firewalls are not 100%, not even the goverment can stop all the hackers and such. Its a good step but not gonna make ya full proof.

 

Firewalls aren't even relevant in this case. Downloading music is basically opening the front door of the firewall to let everything in.
