Gas

So of the gas stations around here are putting a voluntary ration on gas of 10 gals. per purchase because the supplies are limited in the southeast.. So I just 13.x gals, $50 worth to get me to work and back next week. I think this all B.S. made up from big oil because of Ike and Crude Oil prices are falling still. It is there way of trying to get everybody to get gas so they can raise prices because of the demand.

That's funny... I just saw an Exec from Valero saying gasoline stockpiles are at their highest point of the year. They thought Gustav was going to be worse than it was so that helped as well. Stations have not been rationed at all according to him.

I just went to get some milk at the gas station and it's at $3.75 here.

Just an hour away, my buddy called and asked what gas was here because it's $4.59 there.

I'm glad I filled up about 2 days ago. A tank of gas will usually last me a month.

Gas jumped 13 cents per litre here.

The Hurricanes are finally affecting production in the Gulf and the spot price of Gasoline rose 30% today as Ike rages in the Gulf. Supply and demand issue. Shut down the oil rigs and no more gasoline. The spot price is actually higher than when Katrina hit and I recall paying $1.50 a litre then.

Just checked the weather channel, Ike is looking worse than Katrina right now. They are already thinking about postponing some NFL games this weekend.

Gas went from 3.60 to 5.00 at alot of stations around town between 6am and 2 pm today. I found a station on the way home for 3.80ish. The pumps ran dry just as my tank was full.

The oil is already out of the ground. It's a refinery issue at this point in time. It's still a shame they are jacking up prices the way they are.
