Well, I USED to like Matt Damon....he just proved that he is a complete moron and I'll never pay another dime to watch a movie that he is in.

I assume it is some knock on Christianity, but I'm not really sure. Looked briefly to see if Damon was a Scientologist, but gave up quickly because it's not worth my time. I've definitely seen my last Bourne movie.

Fundamentalist Christians believe the earth is about 8,000 years old, based on somethings in the bible, I'm not sure which, I read it twice in a row and didn't find that, but that's what they believe. They also believe it is their duty to bring about the end of times by rebuilding the temple in Israel. That's just the tip of the iceberg. All he was saying is that he doesn't want a fundamentalist with the codes to bring about WWIII, can't say he's wrong about that. Obviously, you are not a fundamentalist Christian, would you want James Dobson as president?

And do you really consider her a threat to the country? If so, that'd be the tip of the ice berg for myself. If you consider her a threat, what would Obama be? A time bomb waiting to explode?

Fundamentalist Christian is a label that should be used carefully. I consider myself a Fundamentalist, as one who attempts to follow the fundamental teachings of Christ and not his Word that has been twisted and misinterrpreted by men. I have never thought of literally rebuilding any temple in Israel. Some of the stuff that gets thrown around in these threads just amazes me.

I consider fundamentalists (Dobson type fundies) to be a threat to our country.

I'll refine to say the James Dobson type of fundamentalists, the kind that want to legislate their beliefs on everyone. Does that work better?

Well .... has Sarah Palin came out and said that she is a follower of James Dobson? If so, it's almost like that guy named Obama who follows that crazy Reverend who believes in Black Theology. Although the tip of the ice berg would be you being a Caucasian. Now that'd be weird.

Yes, some of their teachings are a perversion of the Word for their own benefit.
