Dicuss: Rev. Wright & Obama

Dicuss:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hPR5jnjtLo

This guy is amazing. I can't believe he can stand in front of people and God and say he is a Reverend. I can't believe Obama can listen to the garbage that spews out of this mans mouth but than again we are talking about Obama. How could anyone vote for Obama? Knowing that Obama listens to this man. I just can't fathom the ignorance.

What else would you expect from someone who preaches Black Liberation Theology?

With Obama's connection to Rev Wright surely someone has asked him if he is a follower/believer of the Black Liberation Theology movement right? Yet another question that Obama should answer but will not!

Exactly, my point. Black Liberation Theology is the biggest bunch of BS.

I don't understand how the media isn't jumping up and down in arms. Than again, I remember racism isn't a two way street, and only Caucasian people can be racist.

Take your feeling out of it and what you hear is a slanted, (black) extreme view of history. He says GD America for killing innocent people, slavery and racism.

As I said before he lived thru some rough times in this country.

Those it did not happen to want to forget...those it did happen to may not.

This is NOT typical of his sermons.
I don't defend what he says but I will defend his right to say it.

Honestly I have heard ignorant hate speech all my life (sometimes from law enforcement, congressmen, senators, ect.... rarely from blacks.
He is a public exception...
How would you feel if you heard speech like this all your life?

Don't be trying to make people think and stuff like that, you'll just confuse things.

Not confuse you mean excuse. I don't care what he went through, McCain was tortured for years but we don't see him cursing the race that tortured him do we? Some people need to get over it

Most people I know understand anyone from any race can be racist.

I understand racism but I don't understand why whites don't expect to get what they gave. It's gonna be a long time before everybody gets over ther prejudices like it or not.

I understand so I see the right and wrong of it all from both sides.

No, when I was hearing people say terrible unjustified things about blacks I tried to understand why they thought the way they did. I realized that payback was wasted energy and as I got older I stopped responding when I heard ugly words rather than hate back.

It's wrong from either direction but I understand from either side.

Mccain was dropping bombs on them when he accidentally dropped in. He understood it was war so he had no reason to curse as most vietnam vets don't. Many vetnam vets do curse the government though.

Bad example comparing war prisoner to feelings derived from racism, prejudice, discrimination.

I'm glad you took the bait Old Dogg, you've proved what I believed from the other thread, and I thank you for that.

Just curious, were you a slave?

Wow, pretty bold comment there. So we can all agree that slavery was wrong, but now you think that the Whites should get a taste of their own medicine so to speak. I guess 2 wrongs makes a right, or angry black people are willing to toss morality out the window for a taste of revenge

As do I, problem is it is getting worse. Blacks get angry about things whites do and whites angry about things blacks do. I don't see any end in sight.

I have to hear things like Cracker a$$, if you think blacks are the only group who hear racial slurs you are mistaken. From my experience black people in houston use racial slurs far far more often than any white person i know.

The white man has done many terrible things, that hardly makes the actions of the black man today justified. Lets face it the black man has an uphill climb due to excessive use of govt aid programs & large percentages based on population of people in jail don't help anything. It gives society a negative view. It's not politically correct but it is a simple fact of life.

Unbelievable!

After sitting here for a few minutes trying to figure out how to respond in a reasonable and articulate manner, I'll pass.

Not sure why because I wasnt a slave I didnt encounter unjustified racism, discrimination and prejudice most of my young life.... actually well into my 40's. I have said I grew up during terrible times and seen and experienced terrible things at the end of the 1950's early 60's because I was what was then called colored.

Do you think not being a slave makes me less qualified to have an opinion and after it's end all was well for me?
