UCLA pulls a fast one on an SEC team

Can't believe UCLA pulled out that game tonight against Tennessee. I'm not a Bruin fan, but it sure is good to see an SEC team get taken down. Sure seems like they were talking a lot of smack. I'm not saying UCLA is a great team (I think they're still terrible) or that the Pac-10 in general is a better conference (although USC is amazing ), its just on this one night, one Pac-10 team was slightly better than one SEC team. Thoughts?

Exciting game! Only saw the end, though. I guess the UCLA QB was horrible the first half. I really like Neuheisel. He is a class act.

FWIW, Cal beat the Vols 45 - 31 in last year's season opener, and took down a Big10 team this year (MSU).

The PAC10 does not get the respect it deserves from the mainstream media. Of course they are not as strong top to bottom as the SEC, but it is still a very strong conference.

The vols are over rated almost every year. They are in the middle of the SEC when it comes to the good teams.

The SEC and the BIG12 are far better conferences than the pac 10.

Are you kidding? The last 2 schools he was at, he left them in NCAA sanctions... He's an embarrassment.

But there are some over-rated teams in the SEC

Care to back up that outrageous statement with some kind of coherent argument?

I can possibly see the SEC being as good as if not better than the Pac-10 just because they have a few more schools that have been ranked preseason higher. The fact that one of our bottom teams (UCLA) beat one of their mediocre teams (Tennessee) doesn't help your case tho. The fact that SEC teams don't travel far out of state for their non-conferences is ridiculous as well.
I think the Big 10 is overrated this year as well, Kansas and Missouri? That bubble will burst when they play some decent opponents, perhaps Texas.

Gotta love college football...

What conference did that past two national championship teams come from? I think it was the SEC!

Ooops, forgot about that stuff. I guess he has rubbed the NCAA the wrong way in the past.

IMO, he was very impressive in his post game comments. His words will no doubt motivate his players. Despite losing four seniors due to injuries and his QB having 4 INTs in the first half, he got his team to win.

FWIW, I will gladly acknowledge the SEC is the strongest conference. The second strongest varies year to year between the Big10, Big 12 and PAC10. IMO, the sports media consistantly underestimates the PAC10.

Well, at least there is one good team in the conference. The SEC did it back to back with two teams.

Big win by the boys from UCLA...

I, for one, refuse to admit that the SEC is better at anything then the Pac 10. The Pac 10 is the PREMIER athletic conference in the nation, yet we always take a back seat in the media to the east coast schools. Thats fine for me, because I always love the "Where the F#*$ did these guys come from".

The SEC leads the Pac-10 59-37-5 (.609).

Just google searched "sec vs pac10 football" and picked the first link on the list.

3 of the top 5 are PAC 10 schools.
