My grandfather told me of a prank he pulled while in his working days. One of his co-workers bought a brand new super beetle and was bragging non-stop about it. so it was to be pranked. One of the features of the super beetle was no gas gauge, just a reserve tank. So every day someone would go outside and put gas in the car. The proud new owner never had to fill his car up-he was getting 75-80 MPG, that is until they started taking the gas out again...
So if you have read that and are still interested every night after the GF is asleep I go and top off her Pathfinder which she is always bragging gets great gas mileage. I figure if it stays full, or goes down slowly she won't notice...
So far put 10 gallons in-nothing yet

Yeah, I guess thats the idea, however that really is not a prank, more like a huge favor!

 

I think the taking it out part would be a better idea.

 

This is an expensive prank, I sure would be upset to be the butt of this joke.

Kids today, what happened to the days when you'd pull a prank, the victim would get humiliated or mildly injured, then you'd both sit down and share a laugh over a beer. Quick, easy and for the most part FREE!

 

I think the prank is on the one paying for the gas!

 

I'd assume later he'll start taking it out, thus stranding his poor g/f on the road somewhere? Wait.. she probably has a gas guage. Shoot - if she is unlike most girls she may just read it, notice that she is low on gas, and go fill it.

it's REALLY funny if the person you do it too actually pays attention to their gas mileage. it's not expensive, it's his gf. he'd be paying for it anyways lol.

Clarification, I was still under nyquil when I wrote my (far too lengthy) joke
Anyway, She is proud of getting 23 mpg around town in her SUV well with my adding, she will get about 40mpg then when I take it out, I am shooting for 15 mpg. Should make her very, very confused.
ps. I think the chainsaw thing would get me only dirty looks for about a week

 

is she actually figuring her mileage out each tank or just looking at a readout on the dash. If it's the latter she may not catch on for awhile.
