Challenger SRT8

Ive seen 2 brand spankin new SRT8 challangers and from the outside im quite impressed! I actually love all SRT products as Im highly impressed with the power they put out and the aftermarket for them. I hope to eventually run one with my truck just to watch it pull on me.

Anyone else see any running around? I was real close to one and was to late to notice it as he turned at a light. I want get one to open up to see how they sound.

Ive got to drive one. They are awesome to ride in and even better to drive. It will definitely put you back in your seat when you get on it. Its not incredibaly loud when you open it up but it sounds good. It surprisingly roomy on the inside as well.

Its a fun car to ride around in, you get a lot of looks.

Well.... truck and myself, 3/8 tank of fuel, soft top no tailgate, hitch ,spare tire and I think I weigh in about 4800 lbs. So this may be the excuse to get a whipple next year. always looking for the reason for more HP.

Just checked on the Dodge website and they show the 08 at 4140 and the 09 at 3819. I am wondering how the car lost 300 pounds.

Ah the 09 specs are for the V6. Still seems odd that it dropped 300 pounds.

the 03/04 cobras are around 3700. And I thought that was a little fat.

You would kind of figue that for the debut of the challanger they would have tuned it up. 425 is good but common place now. I would guess that it would run low 13's perhaps high 12's. ran against a srt8 jeep several years ago and he was around 13.5

Yeah I think I've seen 13.3 quoted before. OK but you'll be taking some beat downs.

i think the jeep srt8s are awd though?? arent all the other srt8s rwd? that awd helps the jeeps get traction better.

not sure I know the magnum can be had in 4 wheel drive but the srt package?

the cherokee is all wheel drive et streets gives me a good 60 foot that was compatable with the srt8 jeep. With slick now better. The all wheel drive is good but there would be additional power loss with the driveline additions of the 4 wheel drive. Guess I'm trying to say is that 4 whel drive did not make muck of a difference on the 60 foot time at the track.

general street racing it ( 4 wheel drive srt8) would be better as all I do is spin on the street.
