First Puppy

about two months ago a friends mom called me saying her friend had found a dumped puppy but couldnt keep it since they lived in an apartment. long story short my parents are letting me keep him as long as i pay all bills, food, toys, etc. best investment i have ever made (as you can tell im posting pictures of my pup before my truck. ha).

weighed in at 4.8 pounds and still on formula

potential duck retriever?

will chew shoes but for some reason only wants to sleep on boots. fine by me.

survival of the fittest. cat shoulda been nicer when he was smaller.

Not if your in Florida. He would either be gator or shark bait.

That dog looks EXACTLY like my aunt's puppy did when she got her. She is a German Shepperd/Rottweiler cross.

Good looking pup. Good luck getting it to retrieve birds on command though.

My german has two of those ducks, and he absolutely loves them. If you pick one of them up and act like you are petting it he will come over and take it from you and put it back in the spot that he keeps them. Shiner will be seven months old on the 15'th and he weighs 85lbs already, he has outgrown a standard 21" collar and his feet are as big as the entire palms of my hands. It still seems like just yesterday that he looked just like that.

the vet actually told me that he is not full blood and they think he is part border collie (white feet and belly). however, he favors german shepard the most, but that is still two smart breads to be crossed. He is a quick learner, and is already sitting and beginning to pick up on shake. I would love for him to be trained enough to become a duck dog, but everyone tells me a reliable duck dog you cannot treat so much as a pet.

Shiner is AKC certified, when he was a pup his chest was really light but it is now light tan like the rest of his legs and belly. Here are a few pics of him when he was younger.
