ok got a little more done on the truck

got the pedals mounted along with the master cylinders (just sitting in there in the pic) had to do some machining on the bracket to get it to work the way i wanted, still have to weld the brake pedal together the way i want it

got the firewall in, had to weld the firewall up, the outer rim was cut off to make a custom one but decided to use the stock one, so had to weld it back together and there was over half an inch of a gap i had to fill in some places, due to widening the bottom front of the cab to fit over the frame.

got the steering wheel on, so now the steering is completely done

got the transmission mount done, so now the engine and trans is mounted, no more blocks of wood, mocking it up

and since everything that is on the truck is on and mounted properly now, i rolled it out of the shop to clean the floors and to get some pics

thats about it for now, next is probably a floor, that and pull the engine out to give it and the trans a really good cleaning and maybe some fresh paint

Here are the specs on the engine pulled from the craigslist ad

1979 Ford 2.3 block and crank and rods crank has been turned .25mm on the rods and mains and has been assembled with matching clevite bearings.

The block is 30 over with forged trw pistons with perfect circle chrome moly rings .

The cylinder head is a stage 1 ported turbo head off of an 88 turbocoupe and is loaded with trw lifters and sealed power rocker arms and a comp cams turbo cam with new bearings and an esslinger billet aluminum adjustable cam gear i also have the esslinger tool and instructions. The head is held onto the block with a felpro 1035 head gasket and arp undercut head studs

The intake manifold is off an 84 thunderbird and has been machined to fit all the same sensors as the 88 turbocoupe (since i run an 88 turbocoupe harness and fuel system)

The fuel rail and injectors are off an 88 turbocoupe 36lb brown tops with a holley adjustable fuel pressure regulator attached

It also has a melling hphv oil pump, steel braded lines and a new wp, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, new auxilery shaft bearings, freeze plugs u name it. all painted no cruddy motor. capable of holding up to 500+hp as im selling it (The motor does have a stinger style turbo manifold on it that is cracked but can be fixed and a t3/t4 hybrid turbo with steel braided lines and a wastegate not sure if the wastegate is any good but the turbo worked on a buddies car but they come too)

all of this for 500 bucks with less than 5k miles on the all of the parts engines and it runs no low comp. no holes in the pistons. no blown head gasket. no blow by a strong 2.3l turbo could also be used as a high output na engine

I also have a firberglass 88 turbocouple stand alone wiring harness from the detail zone with an 88 turbocouple 5 speed large mass computer and the mass airflow sensor itself

Az,
Wish I were there. In my younger years I lived Street rods & dragsters.Did alot of fab ,paint ,body ,mechanical. Ran a C/gas NHRA 64 Nova 302 ,ran in the 10.3's @ 139 mph. That was about 100 years ago,(thought we were flyin).Have to admit I was a Chevy guy then. Now days My hot rod is a tractor. When its in your blood its always there. Very nice build you got there .

Got the engine all wired up today (except for O2 and VAM since they are not on the truck yet) but all other wires are cut to the perfect length so no extra wire (except the BAP sensor wire still need to cut that one down) all the wires are tucked away so they are not easily seen and you see no colored wire insulation since it is loomed up and electrical tape over the wires at the end so they all look black. Still need to wire the inside but wont take long at all, just have to hook up the gauges, check engine light, and ignition switch. Don't really have any pics of the wiring.

Then also mocked up the charge pipes, also the decision of black charge pipes and couplers has been made. The intercooler will be in the grill shell in front of the radiator. Still need to put the VAM in place, its sitting about where it will be in the pics but not mocked up with couplers since it is a larger 3" diameter and didn't have 3" couplers. Also don't mind the radiator hoses, I will get different ones along with a different radiator (thinking either out of a 70's 4cyl mustang or a honda, according to dimensions online they should fit). Also need to get the intercooler but will get the one pictured below. Anyways here are a couple pics off my phone, Danielle took some pics with her DSLR camera ill post up later.

Going for a ride

And what does everyone think of the new wheels?
