Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach. 20-30 minutes from Long Beach and your eyes will be very busy.

 

Spend a couple hours at Venice Beach and you'll understand what's wrong with California!

I strong recommend heading down to Coronado Island (San Diego). The San Diego entertainment district is great. You can get a hotel on Coronado relatively cheaply. Alternately, you could stay at the Hotel Del on Coronado and spend a fortune!

Little Saigon and find a Vietnamese Coffee shop for you morning coffee. You won't be disappointed by the lovely girls that serve coffee.

 

Staying in Marina Del Ray currently. Headed down to San Berdino (sp) Valley here soon for a couple of hours. Going to check out a diecast "assembly"/ "design " shop.

I think the sun's a little more intense here than in Ohio. Hung out at the pool in Aneheim(sp) for a few hours Wednesday and damn, I got fried big time.
