I am still keeping mine. I don't know of another vehicle that can haul, tow and still fit my 3 little ones in car seats in the back seat and still get close to 20 mpg on the highway (not while towing, of course).

Yeah, I think we're going to be the end of an Era. It's sad, but true.

They're ALL cutting Truck production. Gas will never get below 3 bucks a gallon again....

I'm keeping my truck as long as it runs. There's no market for it, it's pretty much paid for. I'd rather spend the money each month in Gas than a new car payment.

I'm sure it will be an entirely different mix of vehicles on our roads just 10 years from now.....

yep, sad but true. Luckily I don't mind paying for my gas, nor do I want anything else. I feel my family and I are much more protected behind my F150 vrs some little compact car. Saftey does not have a price even at $4 a gal. That just means that some of the play time is cut out, I dont make extra un needed trips. But either way times are changing.

Hmmmmm........not sure about this one! True they are cutting production BUT will it make any big changes, I am not so sure. Americans do like big trucks & its gonna take a hell of a lot to change that notion. Sure it sucks about the gas prices etc but if the government did something about it there would be an improvement in the economy. Americans will always want/need trucks to haul/move bulky items & that is not going to change. If there is any change I think it will be that the average age of the truck driver may rise somewhat as perhaps the younger buyer may not be able to afford it (the older one's being better paid etc).

man, if i keep mine till it dies im in for a long ride. with only 50k mi on it being an 02, me babying it cause of gas price, and the level of ocd i am about taking care of it, im in for a very long ride:banana:

There's no way gas prices are going to force me to sell mine! Of course, I put fewer than 500 miles a year on mine, so I don't know if I would be considered your typical truck owner......:o

Honestly, though, I have little doubt that my '05 is eventually going to be considered the "pinnacle" of truck design, before fuel costs began forcing the manufacturers to compromise the true intention of the vehicle in exchange for gains in fuel efficiency. I'm glad I bought mine when I did, and that I will be keeping it to one day hand down to my son!

With that being said, there will always be a place for trucks in American society -- just probably not as the daily driver for the adminstrative assistant at the office.

I really don't think that fewer sales are going to impact the legend of a pickup. Think of how many fewer trucks were sold back in the '60's and '70's, yet those models are still remembered fondly by the people who drove them. All you'll see is the "pretend" truck enthusiasts migrating to 30 mpg econoboxes as their daily driver. To these guys I say, "Good riddance!"

They cut truck production because gas goes up. When gas goes down they will increase truck production.

Ill still be driving a full sized v8 truck at 2 dollars, 4 dollars, or 10 dollars for that matter.

Well I'm debating on keeping mine but if I do get rid of it for something that gets better gas milage I will get a Mustang GT.Gota have a V8 and rear wheel drive its the only way to be cool if your a true American male. Been looking at 04-06 GTs with low mileage at a decent price.

if i got a car i would get an awd v6 fusion, some company tested one and got a little over 30mpg on highway, but that's not gonna come close to happening unless gas somehow reaches $5.00-$5.50. but i somehow doubt it gets that high, at least around here.

Funny you posted this, I passed a lightning on the side of the road that was for sale today.
