Hit by drunk driver
Hit by drunk driver
This is the result of a DWI crash. Guy wasn't actually drunk, but impaired nonetheless. Trooper found crack cocaine and horse tranquilizers among other things including hypo needles and a couple of handguns. He crossed the center on a two lane road and hit my brother-in-law in his Blazer. Thankfully no one was hurt. He was charged with DWI, possession of the drugs, CCW, and some other stuff. Oh yeah, did I mention this jackass is already under indictment for trafficking in morphine?

Glad to hear your family is alright.
The guy who hit them needs to die.
Seriously. He needs permanent sleep. Again, really glad that your family did not suffer any loss of life. It would have been tragic.

x2!
Thanks for the concern. My brother-in-law is only 19 and he had his 13 year old sister with him. I am so glad it wasn't a head-on. Just thought I would share this. Seems like almost everyone knows someone who has been affected by a DWI accident these days.
Thank God everyone is ok..
3 years ago, my sister and her best friend were in an older chevy pickup, hit head on by a new silverado head on, both trucks going about 40, they got rear ended by a mazda, and i was right behind them, rear ending the mazda in my dads corolla. All 8 people walked away from the 4 car pile-up, even the drunk who crossed the center line (who was a 50 year old registered nurse who had 3 previous DWI's). The drunk broke his arm and busted his nose but somehow managed to run off into the woods and turn himself in 2 days later. He got 3 years.
Pulling my sister and her best friend out of the mangled truck right after it happened it what hit home with me. If it werent for seat belts, neither would be here.
WEAR - YOUR - SEATBELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Green_98, glad everyone was okay in your story also. My bro-in-law has always been a good kid and he wears his seatbelt religiously.
I heard a story just a few days ago about three young poeple from my town on their way back from the beach. The guy driving flipped the Blazer going about 90...the two not wearing SBs were ejected and killed immediately. The third was wearing hers and she was alive when they got there but died on the way to the hospital. Apparently alcohol may have been involved in that one also.
One of my really good friends had a brother (who we happened to know pretty well also) who took off to SC on his Harley. Just across the state line a drunk came left of center and hit three cars before hitting him and killing him. He was a great guy. There are so many victims out there of DWI accidents. Some people don't take it so seriously but I think the majority of us know that DWI kills. And I know some disagree about SBs also but I know from experience that they save lives.
Sorry for the long post but the whole DWI is kind've a strong topic for me.
