I was on Carfax and decided to plug in my VIN just for kicks. I didn't order the report, just submitted the VIN at the beginning where it tells you about the vehicle and tells how many reports they have. My father-in-law bought my truck from a local Ford dealership in early 2004 as a leftover 2003. I bought it from him later so I am obviously the second and last owner. But they say they have 12 reports???? Anyone know what this could be? I don't want to pay $25 to find out.

 

every time it goes into the dealership for service or warranty work it gets logged so if it has been to the dealership or involved in any type of collision where a police report has been filed plus change of ownership is all logged carfax pulls from all the databases body repair, dealership, and motor vehicle so twelve entries is nothing

 

I know my father-in-law had it in for a couple of warranty repairs before I bought it so that could be some of it I guess. But it has only changed hands twice so that is why I was wondering about so many reports. It was a "demo" vehicle and had a few thousand miles on it when he bought it. There is also a small (prob 6'' diameter) circle of paint on the top driver's door that doesn't quite match if you look at it just right. I was just wondering if there was anything Ford didn't tell him when he bought it.
