Obama's Travel
Never called him a puppet. Unlike the present lobbyist control in Washington, I believe Obama's advisors "give" suggestions, but ultimately it's his decision.
those 200,000 werent all there for the "chosen one." they had a reggae band and a rock and roll concert all day right before he took stage and spoke. it was nice of him to not make any time for the wounded troops in the hospitals over there though
FWIW, there were reportedly concerts before and after Obama's speech. So much of the crowd was likely drawn by the entertainment.
This also occurred at his big rally in Oregon awhile back that got a huge crowd. Don't expect the mainstream media to report that there was a free rock concert, though. That might make it look like Obama can't pull in huge crowds all by himself.
I listened to portions of Obama's Germany speech, and it seemed to me like a bunch of uninspired cliches. But our national press still had a collective orgasm over it.

His speaches seem to evade me.

I'd like to know something legit about this guy.
If the Euoropeans and democrat party set up the free concerts. Maybe they'd like to have Obama for their government.
Interesting point here.. While I honestly believe in strong security, at the same time, why did we invade Iraq? One reason was that Sadam was torturing the hell out of people. We then do the same? The reasons and the rationale behind it may be completely different, but in the end result, Sadam was torturous, and so are we? A tad bit on the hypocritical side there.
I do understand the need to interogate and to get worthwhile info...but we said over and over that Sadam's regime was horrid---and now, in places and at times, we do the same?

True---but if we go in there to clean up the problems, shouldn't we be above the very things we abhor and detest---and in the end, end up doing? What you are saying then it that it is a matter of degrees---nerve gas---out, beheading---out---ethnic cleansing of the Kurds, nix that too---but torture is still OK?

we are nowhere near what saddam hussein was. period. we have shown GREAT restraint in the WOT. so waterboarding, sleep deprivation, loud music, serving them govt food, etc is just as bad as gassing women and children, raping young girls, and cutting arms off young men? we are as bad as that?
and we certainly dont need some senator from illinois going over to europe and apologizing for what america is and stands for. i am sick of the extremist telling me how bad my country is and that we need "change"

Turn on a tv...
I just had time to watch some of his speach on youtube.
He is a great speaker. I don't think he should appeal to the world before he does the US population first.
I have a bad feeling about this guy. I'm sure there will be plenty of dirt to discredit him. It is a matter of time, if not he'll be our President. McCain seems to either be sitting on his thumbs or is still dazed and confused.

I find it amusing how for weeks and weeks McCain criticized him on his foreign policy, his lack of experience meeting with world leaders, his not having gone to Afghanistan and spending any time with the generals or the troops, and implying that the world would not take him seriously, yet when he goes and proves him wrong, he is criticized for being so successful at it.
I finally found a good source for real information, good and bad.
