2008 F-150

I just purchased a new F-150 and was wondering what the black box attached to the rear view mirror was. I read somewhere it had to do with the compass. If so, what is the little push button on the top for?

Yes it is a part of the compass. I was unaware of the button at the top, I would think it is the reset button. The manual should go into detail about what the button does

Edit: Almost forgot, congrats on the truck. Post up some pictures

It isn't mentioned anywhere in the manual. The little black box isn't mentioned either.

It is the compass. Check out this link to set the compass to your geographic zone and calibrate.
