Ok normally I would agree, but a 800W peak sub in my 10X12 ft bed room, yeah a little overkill Im not new to HT setups i sold them for 3 years, just in my small room, yeah its more than i will ever need.

this is it compared to my size 13 1/2 foot.

ahh, the kef psw 2150 250w rms (peak dont mean squat).... probably very similar to the 250w infinity IL100s I used to run at the old house. then again it was never enuff for me, the problem is small subs just dont perform well, You can have low end extension, high efficiency, or small enclosure size. Pick two..... so I built a 6 cu/ft box (the box is taller than me to keep a small footprint lol) tuned to 25hz loaded with 2 12's and powered by a 380w plate amp. its efficient, low and almost what I wanted but not quite, still not bad for under $200. my next goal is a sub with at least 4 15's and a 20hz tuning. theres nothing like moving the house with 20Hz

this is not a 'great' system, but it works real well for me. i wanted it to be low-key, and not overly noticable. that was tough due to the room being small in size.

this a closet

this is whats in it (onyko reciever, toshiba hd dvd player, and cable box)

32 lcd tv, with boston accoustics speakers.

the 'goose' is sitting on the subby

These pics are from the day we hooked everything up.
There's also a PVR hooked up and a PS3 (yeah, 2 Blu-Ray players, what a waste)

Strictly 2 channel here. I'm far more biased to music only, but it does do a very nice job when its time for the movies.

System:

-Panasonic plasma 50" TH-50PX600U
-Magnepan MG-1.6 loudspeakers
-OPPO DV-980H up-converting universal DVD Player
-Smart Devices 2X150VT 150 watt tube/mosfet hybrid amplifier
-Wright Sound WLA12A vacuum tube linestage
-Jolida JD-100A vacuum tube CD player
-HH Scott 350 all tube stereo FM tuner
-ACI Force 10" active subwoofer
-Blue Jeans LC-1 for all interconnects
-12" bicycle inner tubes under all components
-Homemade shelf/rack

yea over on the lumenlab forums they have have some million dollar home theater setups. personally I would never want that many seats to watch something on blueray. Now the superbowl or world series would be fun to have that many friends over to see.

sorry about the wide image but it kicks butt, actually i just took out the img tags so click to view now:

there are better HT forums but that one is a good DIY projector site.

This is an area in the house I set aside for a home theater. I've finished framing it in and have an angled door, but plan to wait to get it done so I can do it all at once, and do it right the first time around. This winter I plan on finishing the rest of the area around the theater which includes a large bar, pool and poker room, and somewhat of a lounge area.

The theater dimensions will be about 14' wide by 20' deep. I plan to have a raised row of seating in the turet area, followed by another row of seating and then some bean bags in the front. The screen will be a 119" and I still haven't decided on the video and audio equipment yet. I've got a bunch of old car audio speakers collecting dust, so I might put a few of the subs to use, but I plan to go all out with this.
