I prefer Olympus, but in the $100 price range, I'd get this one.

I'd consider spending more than $100. I'd say around $200-230 can get yourself a nice camera that will last.

for $100 you won't get a very good camera but you can get a decent one.
I had a kodak and i hated it.
if you can try and find a cannon or a nikon

dpreview.com is a great place to read reviews on digital cameras

I don't drop cameras, or lose them, or get them wet, and I've never had a battery leak. So what's your point?

I have a $100-ish Kodak M753 7mp with 3x optical and 4x digital zoom. It's a cheap piece of crap but it works fine. It's probably as good as anything in that price range. It even has a closeup mode and digital image stabilization. If you get a Kodak, do yourself a favor. Throw away the Easy Share CD, get a SD card and reader. Easy Share will take over your computer.

I did not buy the camera, it was a gift last Christmas. If I were going to buy a camera in that price range, I'd get a bottom end Canon.

I recently picked up a Pentax Optio W30. It's a bit over $100. It's only 7.1mp. It's a great camera for the money. You can get it wet too. It's waterproof.

I got this camera because it's one of two that I found that had an intervalometer that could be set at intervals of as little as ten seconds between shots. The other was the Pentax K20D. I think I might get that one next year.

my most recent camera I just bought a few months ago, and it was just for the focus and clarity of the zoom I went with a olympus fe-330 just under 200$ at walmart and it has a better auto focus than cameras twice the price its thin light 8mp huge screen rechargeable battery that takes more pictures than 3 sets of aa batts in my wifes nikon the only thing that jammed me up on it is the fact that it uses a xd memory card wich is 2-3x as much as sd but a single 2g card with all the settings to full (8mp fine compression)all in all it takes a damm nice pict with lots of bells and whistles
