Thumper's 1st Handgun

Well, today after a long time of research, I bought my first handgun. I was torn between the Glock 19 and Springfield XD 9mm 4" (Bitone). I had held both guns but never back to back until today. Before they both felt good in my hands. After today they both still feel good in my hands. So it was a really tough choice. I was hoping to know soon as I felt them both but that wasn't the case. So, I ended up taking the plunge and getting the XD. I really liked the gun shop. It was a nice place, nice sales associates, good prices, etc. So if anyone needs a gun store in Central Florida, shoot me a PM. I ended up getting the gun for $519 and I'll be picking it up next week.

Now onto my questions. Are there any good XD forums? Any good websites to purchase gun accessories? I still need to buy a safe, ear protection, targets, etc. So any advice or opinions would be great.

I wanted to get one with night sights but no one had any in stock locally. So what do you think? Should I send it to Springfield to get it done? I was looking at their custom order sheet. If you go to this link, you can view the .pdf, I was looking at the "XD Carry Pkg - $220" which includes a Combat trigger job, overtravel adjustment, and Trijicon tritium night sights. What do you think?

I was also looking at getting a led light + laser sight. Brand recommendation? Model? I was looking at the Insight MX6, any thoughts?

Who said I was 18? Jeez, what's with kids and poor reading comprehension. I'm not 18 and I'm under 21. Anyways, back to my damn thread, thanks for the bumps though.

20. If you've got any more off topic questions, like what I like to eat or what I like to watch, just send it to my inbox. Alright?

The Feds call it a "straw purchase".

No that'd be illegal. It was a "gift".

It's funny because until three months ago, someone under 21 years of age, could actually pay for the gun as long as someone 21+ was "getting" it. Some weird chit.

Do not buy night sights... Buy a surefire flashlight, and learn how to use it in conjunction with the weapon:thumbsup:

Nights sights are not any good, if you cannot see that which you are trying to shoot.

What do you think about getting something like the Insight MX6?

They sure do look cool, though. Kind of like the neon lights under the ricer's cars.
