Did some testing on one, and I would not own it. Typical Windows, slow, clumsy, and the processor is not very fast.

Mine is great so far. It has all of the updates for java platforms so I can run Opera for the browser. It's not labeled as a smartphone, but it does everything my Treo did for me.

I just hope the touchscreen holds up, that's my main concern.

I played around with one for a while at the store, wasn't really impressed. Got an iPhone instead.

It wasn't worth it to me to pay more for my plan by switching to AT&T just to get the iPhone.

I hear ya... My wife and I switched from VZW to ATT when VZW wouldn't give either of us a break on a new phone even though we were going to sign new 2 year contracts. Ended up being cheaper to swtich, pay the termination fees, get 2 iPhones and accessories than it was to buy 1 phone at VZW.

That and we get a discount with ATT through work.

That's where Sprint helped us a little...we both had $50 credits towards our accounts, so after mail in rebates my Instinct was $50 and her BB was $50. And, they gave us both covers and car chargers free. After all of that, I figured it wasn't worth the hassle to switch for the iPhone....but, damn I wanted one pretty bad.

I was pretty surprised VZW wouldn't work with us at all. I've been with them for about 8 years, and my wife had a plan with them for about 6. Oh well, if they carry the iPhone when out ATT plan expires we'll probably switch back, can't beat their coverage areas.
