MLB Allstar game?
Ugh, so the AL gets home field. Whoop-dee-do. I really wonder what would have happenned if the 16th had to go on. Would Francona have sent out Kazmir? Would Bud Selig have had something to say?

JD would have got the MVP trophy and the win.
Chew on this guys---this All-Star game actually si one of the spports' all-star game that is played the way the game is meant to be played and means somethng...the NBA all-star game---highlight plays---"just get outta my way and let the show begin"...nobody plays defense.
NFL---some good hits, but still, the game is played after the season (for a good reason, too) but it is still boring. "Hawaii---nice place to visit---oh, we have to play a game?"
NHL---tremendous scoring, but still not real pro hockey, is it?
Nope, the MLB All-Star game still is played about as close to the way the game is supposd to be played---except for all the subs. It is still, in the end, baseball. No other sport's all star game can claim that their all-star game is realistically true to the regular season games. Granted, there are no "take0out slides" and no pitcher throws at anybody, but the strike zone is still the same, the players have to take their hacks, and in the end, it is still pretty much a real baseball game

I agree with referee. Even if its only home field advantage (which some of you may think isn't a big deal... but look back on the Red Sox's world series wins.)
Just the fact that it means something, whether small or big, gives a purpose to what other sports consider just a show.

I like that they tie in home-field advantage for the World Series to the All-Star game. I just wanted the NL to win!
But MLB is kind of the only sport that can have an All-Star game during the season and the players play hard. Since MLB is the only pro sport I care about, it works out fine for me.

I'm a Red Sox fan and I wanted the Game Four celebration to be at Fenway for once.
