I would like to thank you for clearing up my misinterpretation of your patriotism. I do apologize for jumping to the gun regarding your dedication as compared to your political beliefs. I have no shame in posting an apology when I was wrong.

While we do not agree on certain political goverment issues I do respect your right to say what you want.

Now for some of my opinions......

General Petraeus is the greatest general since Patton. He wrote the COIN doctrine to which we use today. I was with him in 03 and I'm with him now. He is a born leader who will guide Iraq through to their own diplomacy to function as a respectable nation/state.

While I do feel little attention was diverted from Afganistan right before we invaded Iraq, I do agree that more could have been done early on. The rotation schedules for unit movement is scheduled far in advance. The units who were not slotted to go to Afgan. were going to Iraq. Now for the big debate..... I feel invading Iraq was better for the whole world. Here is why. I feel it was only a matter of time before saddam did something crazy, whether it be WMD or whatever else crazy he could do. I think the US did the right thing by being pro-active and doing what we did before things got out of hand. Also, strategic advantage incase Iran started getting out of line. Now that were in Afgan, Iraq and are surrounded by our allies I think we might be able to keep them in check. Now I'm all for rights, but we only have one world and if one country shoots, the rest with nukes will retaliate. If they do develop nukes, they can deliver them. I do think we should keep pressure on them not to.

This is all my opinion.

Josh
Hi Josh,

Apology accepted. I know it's easy to presume what people are like after just a few posts, I do it all the time. I just try not to let it make it to the keyboard (though I'm not always successful ).

I understand your reasoning, my own used to be very similar. I also agree with you about Petraeus. It's too bad he wasn't put in charge sooner.

While many of our political views seem to differ, I still have nothing but respect and appreciation for all that you do. Thank you.

Really.

Take care,
~Chris

Yeah, I've got one.
Can't tell who is who though.

I'm not a direct descendent like you. I don't think the guy had any kids.
My relationship goes back to his uncle.

Mine is one of the three standing together at the back wall, but I don't remember which one.

Direct, indirect, it's still in your blood.

Did you see John Adams on HBO?

That would be historically correct.
'Liberals' signed the Declaration of Independence.
'Tories' wouldn't be signing that.
The Tory Party was the English ultra conservative bunch.
Tories were pretty much the enemy in the Revolutionary War.

Liberal - from the root word Liberty.

You should know Josh, that like the post says there are many of us who support your efforts and sacrifice. However, there are many of us, who like you, support the GWOT on all of it's fronts. Many of us understand that the world changed when terrorists carried out their plot on 9/11/01. It was a sobering moment for the entire world and someone had to do something about it.

All of you on the front lines have earned all of our respect. It's hard to show, because here at home were just people, but there are many of us who could not be more proud of you, the people fighting and sacrificing for all of us.

To me, all of you are heros, because of the war. It seems like it would be hard to support all of you withough supporting the hard work that you are doing.

Thank you!

Who doesn't understand that? What some people seem to have trouble understanding is that Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11.

Actually it's extremely easy to show them. Many of us have gone out of our way to make it super simple. Details

To each his own. There doesn't need to be a war for them to be heros IMO. Every person that volunteers for military service puts their life on the line for us everyday, whether they're in a war overseas or servicing jets in Georgia.

I agree, that does sound difficult.

Do you know what the difference is between a prostititute and a typical congressman/woman? Prostitutes get paid less.
