Talk about overkill for an application. Classic!

I got 2 of them... and they are sick.

Someone said they will go through 12 ft of solid concrete... Which is impressive and for 30 bucks a pop, you can't go wrong.

Dead link there, manual... For $30, I may be interested... I plan on building a nuclear bomb shelter sometime in the next year or two.

The verdict is that the router wasn't doing a good job...

I brought this old - did I mention old? - US Robotics WiFi Router home with me today and tinkered around. After getting everything reconfigured and fired up, I have an *EXCELLENT* signal nearly everywhere in the house and even around the exterior perimeter of the house. In a nutshell, it's doing quite well now...

I have this router on permanent check-out from the office until it's needed there again -- the owners know I'm borrowing it for a while.

So, I'll retract my statement about never having had any problems with Linksys stuff... the WRT54G router that I had was running the most current firmware available from the folks at Linksys but, it simply wasn't doing the job. The USR8054 Router that is now running in its place is doing quite well...

Leave it to old technology!

That ain't right. USR wireless stuff is horrid. My buddy had one and basically has the reverse of your issue. The USR blew and the Linksys got it done.

I love technology!

What's the rev level on the WRT54G? The early models that run linux were solid boxes, Rev 5 and up ain't so good.

RockPick, go to www.aes.com and you will see a search box towards the bottom of the page.

Copy & Paste this in: MFJ 1800

It will bring up a whole bunch of nonsense... but the first product in the list is the one you want. Talk about a horrid search feature.... yikes.
